Paul Silas Will Not Return As Head Coach Of Charlotte Bobcats

Don;t ever complain about KT trolling.

Basically, people have realized nothing will be done about KT so now they just find their own ways to deal with it - including creating angry threads about it, trolling KT, and being just general jerks about the situation.

What the hell does racism have to do with any of this? Blah.

Getting back to the Head Coach search. Will anyone like a Nate McMillan want the job in Charlotte? Almost have to go with a no name assistant coach, Nate and some of the others have better options than the Bobcats.

McMillan has ties to NC so that's why he has been brought up. Still not the most appealing job but it makes it more likely for someone like McMillan.

On the coaching search... I never understood while a lot of the same NBA coaches are cycled and past around the league.... Shouldn't teams be looking for someone new who has not been givin a chance yet?

I agree. But sometimes it's the known vs the unknown.

A large part of it is the idea that you really need to be better than last season at almost any cost when you are a very bad team (or even a mediocre one hoping to make more playoff pushes). It isn't always about winning a championship any time in the short term. That is obviously the hope - but there are some cases where it is about hiring someone that can make a team competitive and get it to a place where it is building a solid foundation.

PLEASE!!!! This season has all ready been enough, it would be nice if all of this talk could be debated in 1 thread dedicated to this. I am not a fan of seeing almost EVERY SINGLE CHARLOTTE BOBCAT related thread turn into this poo. Please just stop or take it all to one thread.

Which thread is that?? The one that keeps getting locked?? How about I designate this thread the re-brand/racism thread.

Cool? I would love to talk in the re-branding thread about all of this, but certain people purposely sabotage it.

Then create a new one. Or dont and quit arguing the same points over and over again. One of those 2 options

This forum is becoming unreadable.

Silas' firing has nothing to do with previous discussions that were locked because of someone's own insecurities and covert hatred.

As far as the article, I love Silas, so I hate that he had to be the guy to endure this horrible season and then we just let him walk (although he'll remain on as a consultant).

I feel he should've gotten another year after we bring in our draft pick, but I guess the timing is right. Thanks for all you've done Paul.

And I do NOT want SVG, and McMillan might be okay, but I've got questions about him as well. As Wojo pointed out, it's gonna be hard to get any established coach or talented up-and-comer to take this job, so we're likely gonna get stuck with another Sam Vincent for a year or two.

Id rather we fail as the Bobcats then to conform to the wishes of racists and non fans. No ones put a gun to your head teeray. If Bob bothers you that much, the door is that way.

i don't understand. I am hoping Michael Jordan succeeds and am pulling for him 100%. That is why I go to games, watch their games, buy their gear, etc.

I want him to re-brand because I want MJ to be successful.

I haven't been in most of these arguments. And go back and read what I have posted. I posted about Silas. Someone else decided to hijack this thread with posts and I said the same thing you did, don't bring it in every thread.

And by the way, I like KT and think he is right more times than he is wrong on many racial issues. i just think he is wrong about this one.

KT knows that I like him (I think) and we can have discussions about these things and it doesn't bother me and it shouldn't bother some of you guys as much as it does.

Oh, I know about Nate's ties, big fan from his NC State days and I would love him in Charlotte. I just think he has better options than Bobcats.

It doesn't matter teeray... He and I had agreed on so much over the years, especially race related... But, once you get on the otherside of his argument, you are now a racist. There's no turning back. There's no loyalty on the internet.

If only he knew how dumb this whole "racists want Hornets" thing was... He has no idea about any of us or the lives we lead. If he did, he would think twice about such stupid statements.

I don't use the huddle boards very often so i haven't had many run ins with King T.

In fact the only 2 threads I remember him from are based on the stupidity of the comments that were made in those 2 threads.

1. Jerry Richardson would never draft Cam because he was a racist and didn't want a black QB being the face of his franchise.

2. The rebrand thread, where if u support a name change, it's because your a racist.

Just my .02 - The fact that somebody with that kind of posting history, can be a moderator is mind boggling and quite frankly lowers the credibility of the site.

Now onto the coaching situation.

I really like Paul Silas, he's personable and I think he did a great job of trying to hold players accountable for their performance. With that said, I'm ready for a change, I didn't like the offensive sets that we ran at all. The ball rarely moved from side to side and and outside of the down screen where Hendo would curl around for the elbow jumpe, I don't really remember very many plays that we ran throughout the game.

I would love for MJ to somehow convince Phil Jackson to come in and run this team but, that has almost zero chance of happening.

My coaching wish list is as follows:

1. Phil Jackson

2. Brian Shaw

3. Nate McMillan

4. Mike Malone

5. Mike Budenholzer

    • I didn't say much bigger. Watch the highlights I linked. Bryce doesn't have the arm strength and/or talent to make the vast majority of the throws Mac made in that video.
    • Tetairoa McMillan.   The last 28 1st overall picks were either a QB, DE, or OT. Seeing as I don't think we'd take an OT in the 1st and give up on Ickey as an LT yet and there doesn't seem to be a clear overall #1 type of QB or DE pick this year, it very well could be a non conventional #1 overall this year, at least in regards from the last almost 3 decades of drafts. If we didn't have Horn, I'd be more open to Hunter as a CB at #1, but we have him so another CB wouldn't be how I'd use a #1 pick.  And as much as I love Legette, if we have SB contending aspirations, I don't think Legette is a #1 on a team like that, but he damn sure is an elite #2 on a team like that.  He's more of the Smith/Higgins/Waddle to Brown/Chase/Hill (in terms of role/impact, not style of play of course). T-Mac is going to be the top ranked WR on every team's board in the end.  He is going to be a true outside #1 WR who is viewed as a consensus Top 5 WR in the game by his second contract in the same way guys like Jefferson and Chase have done.  His height combined with his speed, athleticism, and hands are near impossible to find all in one player, there is a reason his generally used comp is Mike Evans (although as he's not as thick, I personally see him more as an AJ Green). Yes, as an Arizona alum I've admitted to having bias towards the player to begin with.  But he's also someone very widely being put into the Top 5 in mock drafts lately and most of them have him as the first non QB offensive player being taken, so it's not really THAT much of a homer pick on my part anyways. If a QB or DE truly separate themselves as being a can't miss prospect come draft day, I'm open to that discussion, but until then, or if it doesn't happen, T-Mac is my pick 100 times out of 100.
