Carolina Panthers’ Picking Joe Adams Makes Armanti Edwards Obsolete

A typical wide receiver takes 3 years to develop fully. Armanti came into the NFL with the same expectations and he was a college QB. I do think his time is getting thin, but I don't see him being gone just yet. If he can put together a good camp, and make some plays in preseason, we will keep him. He has more potential to add wrinkles to our offense than the other guys like Darvin Adams, Tutu, and Manno.

If you are wanting Armani to get a shot at QB for the panthers, we can't assume anything as given, to be fair. It's lunacy.

I don't want him to get a shot at QB. I'm not the one that has said that, but thanks for putting words into my mouth.

It may take 3 years for a wr to develop fully, but the first two years there are some plays made by the ones worth keeping. It's not like at year three they all of a sudden can play. They show gradual improvement. The ones that don't get cut. It's pretty simple when you are not emotionally attached to a young player.

I agree. But I do think transitioning from a Division II school QB to an NFL wide receiver poses a little more difficulty than for the average player. I'm not emotionally attached to Armanti, but I do think that if we made the gamble to transition him to this position, we need to take the time to see it through before giving up. 2 seasons isn't long enough IMO.
