In The First Round Of The 2013 Draft The Panthers Select?

It's bound to hurt his draft stock as he won't be able to play at all. Jenkins played last year. He'll be drafted, but not in the 1st. Likely a 2nd or 3rd rounder based on pure talent. Now, if whatever he did comes out and it's really bad, then that could hurt his stock even more.

I dnt think it'll hurt his stock at all. JJ had much more and far worst off the field issues and was still a high 2nd rd pick. Mathieu's stock was around the mid to late 1st and high 2nd anyway, so not much of a big drop.

Mathieu could still play this season if he transfer to a team in the FCS and not a major college football team.

Tom Luginbill basically tweeted what I stated about Mathieu the other day:

If u need a good corner, u don't want him!!

No he's a great nickle on the inside. He is a marginal corner that gives up big plays on the outside.

I don't overrate him because I know what he brings. He is a great play maker but he is a average cover corner.

But I think the casual college football fan sees highlights and top 10 plays and think he is a great CB in terms of covering his assignment. I think I remember seeing him a lot in the nickel position where he'd either rush the QB or not have the duty of covering someone on the outside. I need to see more out of him before I can even consider him as a 1st round pick.

I see us picking in the 15 to 18 range.

Possibly...

OT, D.J. Fulker, Alabama

WR, Keenan Allen, California

DT, Jonathan Hankins, Ohio State

CB, Xavier Rhodes, Florida State

Any of these guys would be good.

I think our biggest needs will be those positions, but I think the first pick will be DL or DB. If there's a dynamic Pass Rusher when we pick, I'm very certain that will be the pick.

No. I think our DE are okay. We should worry about the secondary more, then DT next

I agree, I think DT and our secondary is in worse shape as well. I am just responding to Ivan in players he could look out for if he thinks we should go DE over DT and CB/S.

So maybe a Alex Okafor from Texas or William Gholston from Mich St.

I think we'll be picking around 20-24, so if either are there. I believe it would be a great pick. I'm still not convinced with the DE's we have right now. They are screaming rotational guys to me at this point. Things can change of course.

Secondary will probably be a 2nd need. If what they said about this years draft is true, had Barron dropped to us we would have picked him over kuechly. Then Safety is a huge need.

Secondary needs to be the pick. No more 3rd rounders that end up switching positions.

We need to target the best CB available or the best FS available,

Even if our RT situation somehow doesn't work out, you can find better 2nd round O-line talent better than you can find good 2nd round corner talent.

I don't like to even to start looking at prospects this early or talking draft, but I already know that we will be addressing the DB's.
