The problem with your theory is that if the coaching staff doesn't trust the QB they won't give anyone opportunities in the red zone. Seems to mirror what happened in 2010....

We didnt throw to gettis in the redzone because we were hardly in the redzone /end of conversation

So they trust him to throw the ball into tight windows but yet dont trust him to throw a one on one short jump ball?

If you draft and start a guy you dont even trust to throw a simple redzone jumpball than I dont know what to tell you.....

Another reason is maybe they didnt trust Gettis to be able to go up and get a jumpball?

They didn't trust him to throw period, which is why Matt Moore was starting at the beginning of the year. We only attempted 60 more passes then runs all year. Compared to last year where they attempted 445 rushes (126 were Cam) to 519 passes....
