1) Edwards comes back and becomes the run stuffer he is suppose to be.

2) Beason returns to his old form

3) McClain and Fua improve significantly

4) Hogan becomes a solid #2 CB

5) Hardy gets over the hump and becomes a good DE

Not quite what I was saying, but there is that chance. What I was saying is that Still would have to learn the position at the NFL level and that takes time for the DT position most of the time. So yes, McClain would've started over Still if he had been the 2nd round selection. Also the team really likes McClain and he's really athletic and showed lots of promise in college rushing the qb and penetrating the gap. McClain would also have a year of NFL playing time, a full year in a NFL weight lifting program.

There's a chance, but I think with his talent level, work ethic and tenacity on the field that he'll be the starter after Camp and preseason is over. He really is that good, he has pro bowl ability. Anytime you get a 1st round grade player in the second round after first 2 picks you made a good selection.
