The Panthers Aren't Built In A Day

top dawg

the lions damn near had ZERO talent after suffering through matt millen for years. they get a new GM and their turnaround takes how long? let's see...

2009: 2-14

2010: 6-10

2011: PLAYOFFS

but hey guys we're still rebuilding and stuff, just be patient

The Lions still have some holes and imploded under the weight of their own immaturity. Who really thought they were going to host the Lombardi trophy this year? They still aren't championship caliber, but they appear to be on their way. Not sure where you're going with this.

we shouldn't have any excuse not to at least make it to the playoffs. it only takes 2-3 years at most to go from complete crap to a playoff team in the NFL. plenty of examples of teams doing it in just one year.

no excuses, no rebuilding bullsh*t. we've had more than enough time to build a playoff team. if we're not it's because our FO didn't make the right moves and we need to find guys that can.

We are experience away from the playoffs with what we had prior to the draft. This draft is about getting solid upgrades, not high risk/reward players. We have time for that in the future. If Davis goes out then we still have an outstanding LB corps. And if Beason and Davis go then we are still good with Senn Kuechly Anderson. Our OL could potentially have 4 pro bowlers on it........Gross/Silatolu/Kalil/Competition/Otah(last chance). Three starting quality RB's. Beast of a QB. Every other facet of our team needs experience due to being so young! Just give me Joe Adams tomorrow and I'm happy!

Pie and rep for you sir. It's incredible that 75% of users on here don't understand this and that I have to hear guy's literally trying to emotionally attack me for supporting quality picks like Silatolu.

What some of you fail to realize is that the FO is not just rebuilding a football team in the immediate, it is creating a culture of success. I don't wish for the roller coaster success of a Fox regime, I want to root for an organization that doesn't fall off a cliff like the Steelers and the Patriots (and, now, the Ravens). These are organizations that may have "down" years, but never hopeless periods of years upon years. They just reload and reload and reload. And, they didn't develop these organizations overnight.

I feel confident we'll at least get 2-3 more wins this season. Hell, 4 more wins isn't a LOT to ask, considering we're getting a TON back from injury and with the additions we made, we seem to be poised (all things permitting) at a playoff run this season.

Comparing the 49ers situation to the Panthers situation is like comparing apples to oranges. Stop trying to act like they went from zero to sixty in 3 seconds. Mike Singletary, Mike Nolan and others set the wheels in place defensively for at least two years. Singletary just didn't know how to effectively drive the wagon. Our defense had way more holes, and the team in general was much more inexperienced, singularly and collectively. Moreover, injuries had a profound impact on the overall success of the 2012 campaign. To suggest that it wasn't a good effort based on the situation of the 49ers---all things considered---is a tad disingenuous.
