Miller was on the board in the 2nd I mean. As was Gilbert.

So Irvin wasn't the reach and Martin was? Just wanted to double check because this whole thread was about DTs and you specifically picked out Irvin in a quote. So it seems odd that you are now referncing two players - who were drafted in the third AND who were picked before us in that round. Surely if we drafted them in the second round then we would have been reaching for them?

Just wanted to make sure I understood your backtracking.

over all the panthers scouts did a wonderfully job of finding dynamic players across the board we will see some of it this year and years to come. With the heart and dedication that we have been hearing from some of the new kids the hopeful attaching on all sides of the ball from the coaches and the ability to keep owe core intact will help the panthers to have a astounding year especially if they keep play with heart stay on top of the ball and work as a unit that believes in their self and each other

Diamond in the rough. Sounds like he made the best of a bad situation and moved on. This guy went to a school that I only knew existed for one and done in the NCAA's March Madness Basketball.

Given a trainer and dietician they will get him down to the size we need him to be at and the strength to be formidable. Part of our past was finding quality talent in the lower draft positions and UDFA and developing them. We will have to see if the new staff is as good as the old staff about developing new talent from the UDFA pool. Give this guy some tutelage from KEMO and LEWIS and we could have a solid back up for Kemo. God knows we needed one in the Giant game.

Im very antsy considering the competition we have at DT, and of all the prospects Irvin is the one I expect the least from. How in the world he merited a 3rd I will never know. I always loved the name Morehead state. Morehead beach NC....coincidence....

the only thing i can think of is his pass rush...because there were better all around DT still on the board...we will go into the season with the same starters on the Dline..if peppers comeback just with more rotation..

I just cant believe we passed on the DT of michigan. That guy was extremely strong, fairly agile, and was an excellent wrestler in college as well. Maybe its just because Im a big fan of two sport athletes, especially wrestling and football. He couldn't of been nothing except an improvement in the trenches and all out brawler.
