Because he came out of a Div II school. Film shows he is a bit raw but with an impossibly high ceiling. Panthers met with him a few times so I'm sure they felt comfortable he'd be able to learn how to play guard in the NFL.

Did not see this pick coming at all. I hope he is good. He looks good. Once Jenkins went off the board one pick before us I didnt have a preference for this pick. At least it will protect our franchise QB.
