No, Hurney has not always drafted BPA. He may say they have but it's just not true. Everett Brown, Eric Shelton and Jimmy Clausen are 2nd round examples of him not going BPA. There are several more examples in later rounds. In the 1st he has even taken a couple of need picks over BPA and that has hurt us somewhat even though all of his 1st have panned out at least skill wise.

Loving this draft so far. The fact that they didn't sign any FA CBs and DTs should have told fans the teams feelings about Hogan, Fua and McClain.

Don't we always draft BPA? I just want to understand why we dont have a championship. I don't think we should gamble, its just not a true statement. Elite QB play, and Elite D-Line, is how championship are won. You usally have to get those in the first.

Clausen was an example of BPA, Hurney said it himself, said Clausen was so much higher on their board then anyone else when our pick came up that they had to take him.

Brown was an example of drafting for need out of desperation and you see where that got us.
