I Do Not Hate Luke Keuchly

I would have taken Cox and been thrilled he was there.

He could start over Hardy at LDE and move inside to DT on 3n longs.

Much like Justin Tuck.

But I am not a scout, im not a GM, nor am I a Coach.

And its likely they are all smarter than me.

Im just searching for some understanding here.

Things that I have heard was Cox wasn't one of their top guys. We all have different opinions on him but Cox looked terrible to me, I am thrilled that we drafted a guy who in a lot of eyes is an Urlacher clone. I do not think Cox will be with the Eagles in three years.

And to add to your point Kurb, think back to our own Panther squad that made it to SB 38. I think it's easier to recall our D-Line from that season (Pep, Rucker, Jenkins, Buckner) than our LB's. I agree that games are won/lost in the trenches, and there must be a belief amongst the FO and coaching staff that the guys drafted last year with a healthy Ron Edwards will do the job needed upfront.

I hope so. The addition of Luke to me signals the end of the Thomas Davis era in Carolina.

If you can't remember Dan Morgan and Will Witherspoon, then your memory is ass.

They were just as important to our success that season.

All I know is that I'm in deep prayer that the guards on the board ahead of us in the second are taken before we pick. Because I know, I absolutely know, that if they are still on the board Hurney will want to do something stupid.

If we use our first two picks on a coverage LB and OG then the fans should march on BOAS calling for Hurney's head.

And I don't mean contract termination.

i agree with everything you said. i dont hate the guy as a prospect, i just wanted to build upfront 1st since it needs some attention. it doesnt matter how good your LBs are if the opposing OL are getting hands on them. and ps no LB can cover Jimmy or Gronk(when he is healthy). this team needs pass rush, and hopefully it will get addressed in the 2nd unless Jenkins is there.

Not to mention that there are only 2 LBs (or even 1) on the field when we move out of our base defense. What percentage of plays do we run in nickel or dime? I'd bet it is pretty high.

I will admit a Healthy Beason and this Kid in the nickle set is pretty badass.

I had to look up his measurables again today as where I saw them previously were off by an inch and a few lbs.

He doesnt strike me as the type to get facemask bitched like my boy Senn did in the final game last season.

But you could be forgiven for not remembering Greg Favors

(although I'm sure Eagle fans would say he was as instrumental to our success as anyone)

As a fan, I am not comfortable with the current players we have on the D-Line, but we don't know what the FO knows.

I didn't want a LB in the first round, but I can see why the Rivera/Hurney took Kuechly for multiple reasons:

1) Pass Coverage by our LB's was probably the worse part of the entire team last year. The run defense was bad too, but it did get better as the year progressed. Underneath routes by the oppossing teams we the 3rd down bane of this team last year. How many times on a 3 and 7 did the team complete an underneath route for a 1st down? It happened all the time- really killed the team

2) Obviously Beason is coming back from a serious injury for a LB (Achilles), and it's hard to believe that even if Davis can come back and play after 3 ACL tears, he has not played extended meaningful football in almost 3 years.

3) Kuechly is one of the highest rated LB prospects in years. Hard to pass on a guy like that value-wise, even if it appears to not be the biggest "need" right now

Actually if Cordy Glenn is there he should be a great pick at 40.
