Worthy > Still ?

One thing I've really learned from watching these DTs is that I LOVE Alabama offensive guard Chance Warmack. Holy heaven that guy has pretty much dominated every DT he has come across. If you want to see Warmack toss Still on the ground go to 3:08 - 3:12. If you want to see Warmack teach Still a lesson in run blocking go to 2:33 - 2:39. I am in love with Warmack.

I really didn't like any of the top DTs in this draft all that much. I didn't think a DT would go in the top 10, and that's even with a weak 6-10 or so. No wonder we just went for a safe bet. Really don't like Still, but Worthy is no prize either, but at least he can hold a double team, and get some penetration 1 on 1.

I like Still better than Worthy.

Still's pass rush is a joke?? Did you even watch him play at all? He's got the quickest first step off the snap of any DT in this class. His pass rush is better than Cox's.

See Brandon Thompson, first step of a fugging cheetah, does nothing in steps 2-10 before falling on his face. Messes things up for the offense with the first step though, re-routes a ton of plays.

I'm a big Clemson fan and that's the best description of Thompson I've read.

When he is fresh (bit of a stamina issue) I feel that he impacts the game more than the other DT available right now. I know that is hard for the guys that get caught up with individual numbers and measureables to see, hell I didn't like him earlier in the process. He gets his hands on the Oline before they have a chance to complete the transition out of their stance driving them back and busting up the play. A bit of an enigma as to why he does not do more after getting behind the LOS.

Don't get me wrong. I love the guy. I'd love for us to get him. If we want a wall against the run he's the best out there. Watch his tape. He never goes backwards. He's constantly and I man constantly double teamed. I've seen him get triple teamed sometimes. That first step is nasty and he can split that double team. But after he going in one direction, that's it.

We've got Luke now (along with other awesome LB) and if we really want a DT that will always command a double team and clog the middle so that those LB can do there thing then we should so take this guy.

Look at this tape vs South Carolina. Watch for the following.

How many times he double teamed.

How man times he splits those double teams.

How many times his penetration redirects the play.

PhD? :D

Kidding. I have my doctorate too and it sure never helped my spelling.

I agree with Ivan. Rivera is a straight shooter. When he says we have DTs and they played well during the last six games, and he says Edwards' return will fix the problem, I believe him. We played 3 rookies last year without OTAs etc. Let em grow.

If we address DL, it will be for a DE. Maybe a Crick or a Bequette.

I have to think our biggest concerns are CB, WR, and G.

Yea, I like Brandon Thompson. I was big on him early in the draft season, before I started liking Brockers, Still and Cox.
