2Nd Round Best Players Available

I wouldn't be surprised at all if we went after Brandon Boykin. Anyone that watched UGA at all this year knows this kid changed so many games. He made HUGE plays multiple times throughout the season in all parts of the game - defense, special teams, and even on offense. He's not an elite corner, and had some knocks (size, which doesn't bother me one bit, and some sloppy tackling at times) but he just strikes me as a Hurney/Rivera guy after watching him all of last season.

Randle is Lafell 2.0. Even though OL is not as big a need Glenn may be BPA if he's still there for us. Doubt we go LB again.

On that list, probably onlu Glenn or Jenkins could start next year

With Wharton leaving and Otah being Qtah I sat Glenn as our best option.

Jenkins will not be selected if available.

People should understand that although you draft based on need, the relative value of a player is a big factor. For instance (and hypothetically speaking), assume that when the Panthers' selection arrives, the following three players are available (among others), and that the Panthers have assigned a number value to each:

Stephen Hill--95

Vinny Curry--94

Devon Still--92

Assume the number value represents the overall "value" of that player to this organization---in other words, not simply physical talent and playing ability, but how well the player will fit into our philosophy and schemes, what particular features the player has that we don't already have at that position, work ethic, personal character, etc.

We wouldn't necessarily just pick Hill based on the highest score. For example, if we felt that we could get a 93-rated receiver in the 4th round, but probably couldn't get a DE ranked above 90, then we might take Curry. A lot of the process involves looking ahead and making guesses about later rounds. This is greatly oversimplified and only a part of the picture, but you get the idea.

So don't worry if we don't address DE or DT in the 2nd round. It won't necessarily mean that we're happy with the existing roster at those spots. It would just reflect a conclusion, at that point in time, that we can make the greatest overall improvement in the roster by picking a guy at another position and waiting until later in the draft (or in the year) to address other areas.
