The Problem W/ Going Lb 1St

Cox was NOT a better prospect than Dareus. If he was, Cox would have been drafted far above us. That is as much of an unreasonable comparison as Miller to Kuechly.

The reality is that fans and mock drafters were more impressed with Cox - as is often the case with people rising after the combine - than actual teams were.

I dont buy it.

I dont feel like looking but im pretty sure Cox had better college numbers and combine numbers than Dareus.

Anyone that thinks Kuechly is a better prospect than Cox is kidding themselves. Cox was rated higher on almost ever board if not all. Cox was better than Darious (sp?) last year that came in and played well as a rookie.

The FO just doesnt view DT as a huge need imo.

I see no way they dont think CB is a huge need though. My only hope is they dont waste the pick on Robinson or Johnson.

Much rather have a dominant pass rusher in Vinny Curry if Jenkins is not available.

I think its more of what was said before the draft. Hurney is always spot on in the first round because he does not take Risks. Cox was the best defensive player but DT is more risky than LB. So we get a backup/insurance instead of a impact player.

How many years are we going to draft LB till it Hurney gets it threw his skull that DEs and DTs make a difference not LBs. Name one LB on the Eagles team, Name one LB on the Giants team, Name one LB on the Pats team. Yup they are not big name guys and they sure as hell didnt draft them in the top 15.

Cox was widely considered a better prospect than Kuechly.

I agree, I don't think they see it as a big need (not sure why not tho). Cox was widely considered a better prospect by the draftniks who are not employed by NFL teams; the Panthers obviously had him rated higher than Cox. I wanted Fletcher Cox, but I would find it hard to believe that he was rated higher on their board & they took a LB.
