The Problem W/ Going Lb 1St

The draft is not just about positions. You can't think of it like, "Man if we had taken a DT or CB, then we could take DT or CB in the 2nd and we'd have a better defense!" It is about players. The FO thought that Kuechly at #9 was a better pick to improve the team than what was available at CB and DL.

They are going by the board not by where they are weakest on the depth chart. I think that's what you are suppose to do right?

DING DING DING DING DING

ya gotta draft smart. its the best way to get ahead of other teams in the league. you can't just plug positions cus you'll end up setting yourself back in the end.

the panthers have always been drafting smart the last few years. i like the moves they've made and i completely trust em. Kuchely will hopefully make us happier later rather then right away although there is no saying he wont...

Gotta take best available in the first round

Makes us have to choose either pass rush or CB in the 2nd.

Which sucks because I really wanted to get a stud DL to improve our pass rush AND Janoris Jenkins in the 2nd.

Going LB first just killed that combo.

I thought we could have got a decent LB later in the draft.

If Jenkins is off the board than I dont think we will have to make a decision regarding pass rush or CB as you pick Perry, Curry, Worthy, and Still over Robinson and Johnson without question.

Well, atleast I hope.

Im alittle bummed about not getting a stud DL to go along with Janoris Jenkins.

Rivera has been sayin for months that DT was not a position that he saw as a big need. We just refused to listen to him.

He needs stud lb's to run his scheme....urlacher and Briggs in Chicago.....merriman in sd.

De or cb in the 2nd.

There are some good CB's in the 2nd. 2/3rd rounds focus on 2 holes and still have 4 picks to play with also. Also in 3 years the LB's we have might not be with us.

The only good CB in the 2nd would be Jenkins. Johnson is a S / CB tweener with some question marks and Robinson is a mostly combine hype.

Id be pissed if we passed up Jenkins, Curry, Worthy, and Still for either Robinson or Johnson.

They have already shown they are going BPA from their board, so your time spent on strategy is likely all for not.

You do understand that the best DT and DE were still on the board at 9 right. We picked LB because of need not BPA.
