why are you guys even comparing Von Miller to Kuechly? Von Miller went #2 for a reason. This is like the Peppers-Coples comparisons. Blech.

Because a Von Miller type player is the only type of LB you should be taking in the top 10.

I shouldn't have to take up for a kid like Kuechly.

Y'all can talk poo now, but you will be buying is jersey in 8 months.

I would have picked Fletcher Cox too, but I believe Rivera knows what would help this Defense more.

And they believe this guy is a difference maker.

Willis and Beason were worthy of top 10 picks......hindsight proves that. Urlacher, Lewis, etc....as well.

LOL @ all the Coples fanboys who got their hopes up. Kuechly is 1,000 times the player Coples will ever be. I admit, I'd have rather had Cox, but I have liked Kuechly from the start (from the draft thread, I made a post about him way back in January). He's another Hurney hit in the 1st round; the safest pick in the draft not named David DeCastro.

And for those who think he's "a faster Dan Connor", check the scouting reports. Mike Mayock said it during the draft, but Kuechly has outstanding coverage ability and is a sideline to sideline tackler.

We just took another Beason and this year's DROY. Be happy.

And what if Coples wasn't the pick you wanted? Does that make your sweeping generalization null and void and the pick goes back to being stupid (psyche it never stopped being stupid)?

Doesn't matter who you wanted; I wanted Cox, but I can still see the value in adding a player like Kuechly. There's practically ZERO chance he's a bust for us. We may have the best LB corp in football now.

You guys are confusing positional preference with caliber of player. Just because you wanted a DT/DE/CB and felt we could wait at LB doesn't make Kuechly any less of a player.

well hindsight is just a dandy way to make an argument.

Hindsight actually gives you the ability to know a players worth and value in the NFL. So when you look back at what Willis, Beason, Lewis, Urlacher turned out to be......those caliber LBs are woth top 10 picks.
