Uhm, okay, so your argument is that at the position where we had 2 starters coming back from *major* injuries we might end up with a surplus of talent...?

This could easily have happened at literally any other position on the defense.

What would we do with Cox if Edwards recovers and our other DTs improve? What would we have done with Coples if hardy had a great training camp and exploded this year? what would we have done with Claiborne/Gilmore if Hogan ends up being a probowl CB?

I believe Beason and Anderson having good years more than those others examples. Not to mention postional value.

Please tell me you're just acting like you don't see the difference between the LB position and the other positions on defense.

Not to mention the whole "there's no surplus of talent at the DT" position to begin with.

Tackling is tackling but you don't rack up tackles unless the players with the ball get to you, that's my point. If you think that either both Davis and Anderson start over Kuechly then you are smoking crack. Anderson is a good football player but he's not elite and TD...well, lets be real. Kuechly won't sit the bench, he'll start day one somewhere and he'll be a hell of a player.

Can he play DT?

You, I and P55 have been trying to tell them for a while now. Come the regular season, they haters are going to feel bad for all of the nonsense hate that has been spread on this board for the past few weeks.

Kuechly was the best defensive player in this draft, i guarantee it.

You still don't get it.

I am seriously fuging mind = blown at people doubting Hurney in the first round. if you want to question his drafting in rounds 2-7/draft day trades, sure. his cap management, fine. his free agency moves, again, understandable..

but look at the mans track record in the first round.. I seriously can't think of a GM in this league better at evaluating first round talent than Hurney. inb4 Davis/Otah.. can't predict injuries dipshiits.

Why is LB expendable now?

There is no surplus of talent at LB now. We have no depth there, players returning from consecutive injuries, a loss of someone who started a ton of games for us over the last few years... LB is now one of the weakest positions on the defense right now.

Thats great, he probally will do well. Tackle machine, I get it. Wont change the game the same way an impact pass rusher could.
