Attention Whiners ....

The only reason that Anderson had so many tackles is because the rest of our defense was in shambles due to injury. Anderson was supposed to be third best linebacker on the field, not the best player on the whole front 7. Not to take anything away from Anderson, because I think that he's a great ball player, but lets be honest here.

But if he was the best player on that whole front 7 why is he the top target for replacement?

Why do we need three first round picks at our linebacker of all positions?

So we just spent a 9th overall pick on a guy who

A ) we hope can fit our defensive scheme if another guy gets injured

B ) will replace the guy who broke the team record for tackles last year.

Which one of those is it

We didn't use a top 10 pick on a backup. Kuechly/Beason/ Anderson. TD can go back to his original position, which will help his oft-injured knees.

do people really think our dline is any good? lol

i think cuntly will be a good player, not hating that we got him. though i think we would have been better off adding a position that typically makes a bigger impact on actually winning games.

same way i didn't like us taking two 1st round running backs even though i like stewart as a player. there are better ways to build a team and that's pretty obvious.

Plenty of Shirley, Nebleet, and Krease type guys left. They were actually serviceable towards the end of the year.

I don't think he's replacing Anderson, I think he's replacing TD. I was just stating that he could very well replace Anderson if that's what they decided was best. He could replace Beason in the middle and Beason could take TD's spot, although I don't think they'll take Beason out of the leadership spot, so I don't see this scenario being likely. My point is that they can do about anything they want with him because has that kind of ability. Regardless, the likely odd man out is TD.

The thought of him replacing Beason is in part why this draft selection is so stupid.

Another part is that Kuechly is best suited to Anderson's spot. Which we've already established is dumb.

Anderson racked up More tackles the year before when beason was there. Calling it a fluke really does not work there.

Different scheme that year and our front 4 were even worse than last year.

Tacking people is tackling people. You dont get better or worse with scheme. We also did have a void in the middle of our line that year. Face it we have 2 good LBs and maybe 3 if Davis recovers. The question is what the hell do we do with Kuchee if that happens. My guess is he would ride pine.

What would we do with Cox if Edwards recovers and our other DTs improve? What would we have done with Coples if hardy had a great training camp and exploded this year? what would we have done with Claiborne/Gilmore if Hogan ends up being a probowl CB?

Tackling is tackling but you don't rack up tackles unless the players with the ball get to you, that's my point. If you think that either both Davis and Anderson start over Kuechly then you are smoking crack. Anderson is a good football player but he's not elite and TD...well, lets be real. Kuechly won't sit the bench, he'll start day one somewhere and he'll be a hell of a player.
