Your taking the word Knock out too literal. I want a Thomas Davis type player that punishes the offense. Kuechly does not seem to hit with power.

You obviously didn't watch the sport science video. They measured him to hit with more force than Dwight Freeney, and before you say it's just sports science, you should know that athletics and physics/science intertwine quite a bit.

Seems like a high-character pick, a guy that we will be proud to see in a Panthers uniform.

Meh I want to get excited but the dude is not even a thumper. He is not going to knock anyone out.

We could hope for another human missile like Dan Morgan who will stay concussed and miss a lot of games for his hard hits, or hope that this guy tackles with fundamentals and keeps himself on the field for many years.

Again, you watched the first 30 seconds of the video, maybe. It is not a highlight video. It is a video about him getting the Butkus award - literally about him being awarded it, not his play that gave him that honor - it mentions things, shows less than a minute of plays. This video tells you more about Kuechly as a person (or at least his coaches opinions of him) than it does about his play (save for the fact it is about an award for the best college LB in the country).

There's no point in that, the point is to wrap up. Tackling is a lost art in the league, so if you can get a player that can stop a player in the backfield by a shoe string tackle then so be it. You don't get fug*ng brownie points for leveling someone, sure it looks cool but last time I checked that has nothing to do with the art of football

Sounds like you need to check out some Tez highlights instead for some big hits. Kuechly is known for fundamentals. He does lay people out sometimes (amusingly enough that is one of the very few plays actually show in this video), but he knows his job is to get players on the ground with as high a probability as possible. This means proper technique.

That's literally his only knock - that he doesn't crush people when he tackles them. I'm ok with that.

He just seems to mirror Posluszny or Connor to me not the power of Urlacher. Im just looking to see what seperates him from all other LBs every year and Im not finding it. His speed is impressive but thats about it.
