It's not the dumbest move in the world.

It's very possible that someone like the Bucs or Jets could've traded for the #3 pick, the Vikings were very eager to trade down, still are, and Richardson is a very good back, few like him. Some people say he could be as important to a team as AP is to the Vikes.
