You can't just plug any player into a 3-4, you need specific types. Neither Beason nor Kuechly are suited for it.

I still think we will see a lot more 3-4 this year regardless of who is playing in the middle

Just listened to the live press conference with Hurney and Rivera.

Short recap:

-Number 1 player on their board at 9; went BPA

-Like his versatility, think he can play all 3 linebacker spot

-Dodged questions about where he'd play. Rivera said, "We'll put the best players on the field."

-Asked Hurney about whether LB injuries were a factor in the pick, "Not at all."

-On possibility of trading back into 1st round, "Probably not"

-Liked his work ethic. 71 out of 71 players showed up. Wanted to make sure they got a guy who'd be number 72.
