I remember a Panthers official (Jack Bushofsky, I think) telling Vonnie Holliday that if he was available at our spot, he'd write his name on the card and dance on the table. He was there, and we didn't pick him. When asked why, Bushofsky made some dumbass joke about it and didn't really answer the question.

Peter was the first guy to ever be tested by Tim Krumrie's "handfighting" drill at the combine. They made it a normal part of the gauntlet for defensive linemen after that (don't know if they still do it though). It was, apparently, Peter's performance in that particular test that caught the eye of Panther officials.

Stories like that are one of the reasons why I'm happy our current braintrust prefers gametape over drills.
