Panthers Trade Predictions.

Trade with the Eagles for them to move up from 15 to 9.

We get the Eagles 15th pick, 51st pick (2nd round), and pick 194 (6th round).

Good for us because we get extra picks. Good for the Eagles because they can move up for Coples or Ingram and they have multiple picks in he second and 6th rounds so they wouldn't be losing as much.

However, I have a feeling that there is a chance that we go defensive BPA or Blackmon at #9, and then use our 40th pick and next years 1st round pick to move back into the late first round and get a WR or DT (depending on who our #9 pick is).

I could see it happening.

I won't say whether or not I'm a fan of it, but I can see it.

I am never a fan of trading away picks. I don't love that scenario, but our FO spent a lot of time on some guys projected to go in the 20's (especially at WR) which lead me to believe they either want to trade way back from #9 into the 20's to get as many picks as possible or are willing to try and trade back into the late 1st.

I really don't see the Panther's trading up with future picks anymore.

One reason, we are in the process of building for long term sucess. Also, I think the public backlash would be severe.

Its possible, but I really don't see it happening.

I don't think Hurney cares about public backlash, nor should he.

If they have a guy they like that much then I'm ok with it. The last time we picked twice in the first it worked out well talent and ability wise. Just got hit with some bad luck injury wise.

Tannehill makes it past Miami, and we pilfer some QB desperate team that wants to trade up in front of Buffalo. I think there's enough depth in the 1st round and we have enough needs that we could find somebody even if we went down to 22 with the Browns. More likely 12 with Seattle or 11 with the Chiefs.

Of course, this requires Miami to pass, and for their to be a strong belief that Buffalo would pull the trigger.

Yeah, maybe. I still don't see it.

I just think we, as a franchise, are needing to stockpile talent and depth. And these are moves that are made when teams are close to being Super bowl contenders. I still think we are a little bit away.

You are looking at it the wrong way. If you like someone at @25 and can trade you #40 and next year 1st then the only way it really hurts you is if you suck again. If you feel like your team will be good enough to be picking in the 20's again next year you are really just forfeiting a second round pick forf a first round pick.

You are essentially just making next year's first round pick, this year.

Where it becomes a problem is if you make that move and then suck again and have another top 10 pick. Then you lost a lot more value. But if we make the playoffs next season we only forfeited a second round pick for a 1st round pick which is a great value IMO.
