Report: Panthers To Take Blackmon If He Falls To 9....

Anything leaked from the Panthers is for a purpose.

They are don't usually let stuff out unless they want to.

Could be posturing for a trade down if blackmon slips.

Could also be tempting someone to trade above us, if they want blackmon.

That being said, I would not be shocked if they did take blackmon there, and I would be okay with it.

I think he could be the next T.O. without the drama.

This draft is weird...I would actually be happy with any possible guy with slight gas face toward Coples and Poe.

-I think Coples is Hardy 2.0 so it would be a wasted pick IMO.

Panthers do need a good push up the middle with a DT but how much better are the top guys in this draft compared to Free agents remaining, The Dts on the roster.

I think there is a wider seperation with our no. 2 cbs and the Gilmores, Jenkins..possibly Kirpatrick(at safety)

I think we should avoid a first round wr as I think the lafell, Gettis will be servicible if not taking a jump in production. LaFell had a second rd grade and was considered more of a play maker than Ruben Randle, who is considered a late first or second guy (for some reason). LaFell is on the verge of a massive improvement IMO.

Luke* and a DeCastro are considerablly better than what we have...after Beason and Anderson of course:healty Davis is a pipedream.

If Beason and Davis are injured everyone would be reto drafting Luke of our lbers.

My dark horse is Ingram to be a LOLB! What? Conversion hybrid Lbers...Rivera like that shat..

LOLB? We don't run enough 34 looks to justify that, IMO. Now, if he could play DE on passing downs and SLB on 3rd and long then sure, but in the too 10 I think you have to have a 3 down guy, like Kuechley.

Ingram and Richardson are the only two I really don't want and I'm not a fan of drafting OG at 9 either.

    • Same... With the personnel the Niners had, that defense could have been historically good in the right hands. Under Wilks they were certainly good, they didn't quite rise to that level. Honestly, I see Wilks kinda like I see Rivera: fantastic person, decent head coach. Skill wise, phenomenal DB coach, so-so DC. His greatest strength is his leadership. Hard to find many better in that department. In the Xs and Os / execution area though, not as good. Bottom Line: Wilks is the sort of coach that needs a staff that excels in those aspects of the game where he's weaker. But, like Rivera, I don't know that he scouts assistants very well. That as much as anything might be why he's not in the NFL now.
    • Clearly the best outcome for us is a Giants W. A spot or two difference in the 4th round is inconsequential. Just look at the trade value charts. A spot or two at the top of the 1st means a LOT. A spot or two in the mid-rounds? Virtually nothing.
    • Agree. I don't think I have ever heard him say anything positive, at any time, about the Panthers. Best expectation is no mention at all.
