Panel Discussion

I'll be doing my first panel discussion on my campus tomorrow. Wondering what is the typical dress for something like this? I don't want to be over or under dressed for it. I don't really have anything "middle ground" like a polo (and my friend won't lend me his again because I forgot to give it back to him last time), so I'm either going in jeans and a plain black t-shirt or in khakis and a black button up. Which is my better option?

Panther polo or Tux.

The khakis and a black button up would be my choice as it looks a bit more professional and smarter than a t-shirt.
