Julius Peppers question...?

Recommended Posts

Yeah, I think Peppers thought his agent would get at least one offer sheet. If he really wants out, I don't understand why he didn't sign his tender and let the Panthers work on some kind of trade? His contract has expired so he basically has veto power over any trade the Panthers arrange by refusing to sign a long term contract with the other team.

I think his agent totally screwed the pooch on this whole thing. I actually feel sorry for Julius because I don't think he's the sharpest knife in the drawer and his agent probably chatted him up about how he could work out some kind of trade... now Julius has to eat his words and come back... awkward.

If we sign Pepp to a deal now.. it better be less than what we offered him at the beginning of last season.. he isn't worth that kind of money, and no other team would give him that.

Yes they would. Just because you want it to be true, doesn't mean it is. There are plenty of teams that would pony up huge dollars for Peppers. The problem was the two number ones...

Tag him all you like, he still has to sign it.

He only has 2 options... Sign it and play, or don't sign it and sit at home watching I Love Lucy re-runs (and miss out on a million bucks a week)...

Only reason he hasn't yet signed it is because he wants to maintain some sign of control over his trade options... When it comes time to make money, he'll sign it... And if he doesn't, so be it... Either way, if he's gonna play football again for the foreseeable future, it's either going to be with the Panthers, or somewhere that the Panthers dictate to an extent...
