I've been asking that question daily for months, you saw that first drive, right?...

i remember that drive like it was yesterday. 5 running plays 50 yards and TD. The next 11 possessions: Punt, fumble, INT, punt, INT, punt, punt, INT, turn-over on downs, INT, INT

Jake had 5 Ints and 1 fumble... oh yeah. i remember that game.

133 days until the first day of the season... I'M READY FOR SOME PAY BACK!

OK Squirrel...lol

Jonathan Stewart got close to 1000 yards as a number two back. How is this even a question? Fox could put on a uni and play QB handing off the ball and it would still be a formidable offense...

For me it's not a question of Stewart's talent at all. He had azzloads of ability. I love the guy, I think he is going to be a major stud. I'm happy they have him. I am happy they have Otah. I wouldn't trade either of them now. I love watching him run. I love watching Otah pancake the eff out of peeps. The only question to me is one of value...what you get for what you give up. There's no real way to answer that question of course other than to look at what a guy like Forte did in Chi where they went stud OL first (and I think the guy was actually hurt most of the year) then second round on the RB and see that worked better pure VALUE wise last year since they didn't lose a couple of picks to do that and Carolina did. And again, no way to know IF that scenario would have worked in Carolina which is the only thing that matters. For all I know they would have used those picks on players who crapped out...lol I think Forte was actually gone before Carolina's slot would have come up in round 2 anyway.

You have to look at every years draft different. One year it might be loaded with runningbacks and other years it wont. The years it loaded with rb's you can slip in the second round and grab one that would go first round in other years. That is what we had last year. We had a shitload of first round rb's in the draft some overflowed to the second and third rounds. So to take Stewart at 13 with a foot injury when you had all those rb's was a reach.

The part you left out is that the Panthers surgeon was the one that operated on Stewart's toe. Technically, we had inside information and we used it. What's wrong with that? I didn't see anything, the guy's a beast. If he was running at me, I'd turn and run the other way and I'm probably twice your size. He was a steal where he was, no doubt in my mind. Don't let the hate for Delhomme cloud your mind, he'll be out of here soon enough. Stewart won't...

while you guys are sitting here debating why Stewart was/or wasn't a bad pick......somewhere Julius Peppers is punching a little tiny baby in the neck, pushing an old lady over, and shoplifting just b/c he can. I mean seriously, let's try to stay on task here........

When he figures out what to do with space, he's gonna be twice as good.

I am really not convinced about Joe Flacco. He looked outright horrible in some games, missing his receivers by embarressing distances, I feel he is never going to be a true franchise QB and due to that I doubt I would want to spend a first round pick on him.

In contrast I love Stewart. I think he certainly will be a franchise running back and looks to have everything you could want in a runner. It was very rare to see him look out of his depth, unlike Flacco. My only qualm is that mainly RBs are a dime a dozen and they tend to have pretty short shelf lifes. So I am always loathe to use first round picks on them.

So in conclusion I would not pick Flacco over Stewart. Hands down. Would I still pick Stewart? Probably. Not sure what it is, but the players that were selected between our two picks and after 17 do not really take my fancy. So whilst I would have prefered to take a different position, Stewart is easily the most talented player from picks 13 onwards. The only guys I would take in his place are in the top 10.
