Broadband Internet

Fellow Nerds,

I am moving into a new place with my gf and we are planning to get 4G broadband internet. It is a home wireless base station. I have used them before and the download speeds are perfectly fine for what I need to do. (Play MMO's). I was unsure as to whether or not the 250GB cap on download in the month is something I should worry about. I don't know if WoW or Skyrim or XboX live has that much of a download? I am not an everyday 6 hrs a day kinda guy. Let me know what you think? Should I be worried about going over 250 GB?

No. When I had comcast's 250 GB limit, they had a page where you could check your usage. I used to stream netflix almost every night while my wife was downloading college courses. I also played xbox live/ PSN and downloaded games and the occasional torrent. I rarely went over 50 GB/month.

The most I've downloaded in a month is 160GB, and that was trying. You won't go over it unless there's a lot of users who all download a lot. The only way I would even come close to 250gb is if i downloaded my entire steam games collection. It's not something to worry about on a month to month basis.

    • Hey guys, remember when we won those meaningless games in 2010 and it cost us the #1 pick and the chance to draft Cam? Oh.... right I get that's more of an extreme example because it got us a HOF caliber QB.  But it's the general concept, you want to win late season games when you have the pieces in place to make a run the next season, we currently are not in that place. Herbert and Sewell are the ones I point to so much, because we literally lost out on 2 franchise different makers by 1 draft slot.  Give us those two players while we still have CMC, Moore, and the rest of the picks we gave up for Bryce, and we'd have been a legit playoff contender the last few years. Draft position matters in the NFL more than any other sport (other than the #1 pick in the NBA in a year with a generational talent).
    • It’s so crazy. If we had a shot for pick 1 and there was some generational player there then yeah maybe I could get behind the draft position argument. I’d say most GMs and coaches aren’t diving into the draft right now. They are trying to win games.
