Something else that should be mentioned -

Since 2002, Carolina has drafted 8 All-Pros. Only Bears, Saints, 49ers, Colts, Eagles, Ravens, and Patriots more and just as many as Pittsburgh, New York, Greenbay, etc.

I don't think some people on this site realize just how talented some of our teams were. In 2009 particularly, we were strong everywhere (top ten defense, 2 1100 yard rushers) but couldn't do jack with Delhomme. Once Moore stepped in, we stomped Minnesota and New York.

TBH this is make or break year for Hurn dog. Our motto is build from the draft and we have a team that is on the cusp of going to the playoffs if a few holes are fixed. If he drafts good then we will make a run, if he falls flat then we are a 8-8 team. I dont like excuses though when your putting all your eggs in one basket. If he cant pick worth a damn every year then he needs to go cause we are not getting help from anywhere else.

Marty picks SAFE picks in the first round. OL, RB, LBs are generally safe. He will do the same this year. In the second round, he has tended to reach for need. Even if it seems like it doesn't fit, his best pick in the second round, Kalil (safe), was not a need at the time.

What are the risky picks by position? DT, WR, QB. Until last year, he had never drafted one in the first, round, even though we had needs. After Clausen's 2010, he had no choice.

Another point: Marty SUCKS when he has to trade up. Otah, Everette Brown, Armanti Edwards. Why? They are need picks

well u cant say clausen was a bad pick in the 2nd round. He would have been a bad pick had Hurney successfully traded and got him in the first. But as a 2nd round pick, worth the risk. Clausen was rated one of the best qb's in that draft. And you get him in the 2nd. I say props for hurney for waiting for the draft to fall to him. Clausen hasnt worked out in carolina but I wonder if they took him expecting him to be a backup to andrew luck the following year. Then Cam had his break out season at Auburn and Luck returned to school and their plan changed significantly.

I expect Byron to pan out very well for the RT spot. He's already lost weight and looks good. He has something Otah doesn't have, work ethic.

Byron lacks talent. I expect him to be depth and little more.

Dont fear the madden curse......fear Bell playing tackle again

Lacking Technique does not mean you lack talent. Bell was very raw last year but it's to be expected by a late round pick.
