JUst made a good point on ESPN. Loomis is going to have to know the verbage to translate then shoot it down to Payton in time to make adjustments. I don't see this being anything big, that would be really tough to do. Hopefully it's true but I doubt it.

For teams that you play twice in one year (divisional rivals), listening in on a coaching staff during a game could well give you a significant edge in the next game. And the games the year after that. And after that.

cheating is not nearly as bad as getting caught

cheating shows you want to win at any cost. getting caught shows that you are a dumbass.

also, to the points trying to be established that it was for a limited time only and that it might not help per the translation and relay time constraints...

You don't knowingly break federal laws if there is not an advantage gained or at least an advantage perceived to have been gained and if this is found to be true, having done it for one game or an entire decade is exactly the same thing, cheating.
