Of course. Then again I don't you remember mentioning beason when you mentioned Na'il Diggs. Turnabout is fair play...........

because beason was playing for the hurricanes in 2006

in fact the only first round linebacker on that defense was Thomas Davis, which makes one, not 5 like you want

So are we talking 2006???? Okay then. First off Chris Draft had a great season. He led the team in tackles that year with 107, he had 5.5 sacks which is more than Beason has had in his career. In fact he had a career year here. We definitely should have kept him, our defense was built for him. Davis has 88 tackles which was second on the team. Add Diggs 61 and we had a linebacker group which accounted for 250 tackles. We also had a good secondary with Marshall, Gamble, Lucas, Shaun Williams and Minter. We had a declining Rucker but Peppers was at his best with a career high 13 sacks. Jenkins has his last good year here so we really had good players at all levels. that was very solid defense. If the offense had been decent we would have easily made the playoffs.

False. Talent is a major factor imo.

False. If you blitz more players than the offense can block even I can end up with a half a dozen sacks. Blitzing is all about stunts, overloads, and misdirection. Rushing the passer requires talent. blitzing requires fooling the offense,

it's amazing what a 6th round journeyman can do for you when you want to spend a top 10 pick on Kuechly

btw here is a pretty insightful scouting report on Luke

That was done before the combine and is filled with common misconceptions by a guy who obviously didn't watch enough film. After the combine these same smucks actually watched film and their opinions completely changed when they did their homework. Good try though.....

As for Draft it goes to shows you that the right scheme and good defensive coaching can bring out the best in a player. If we can do that much with a journeymen imagine how great a blue chipper will be. I can't wait....

Of course it is. panther55 thinks he's going to run down a QB with a great scheme. Oh man that's funny.

Actually most blitzing isn't running down the QB, when that happens they are out of the box and they simply throw it away since there isn't any grounding.

Most times players blitz off the edge to blindside a QB or stunt around a linemen to surprise the Qb who is looking down field. But that is scheme again isn't it....... What is funny are posters who laugh at others when they are the ones with no clue.

Some blitzes involve a chase, or missed tackle.

Scheme and talent are both very important.

Your post still gives me a chuckle, and I hope you were joking. All in all this has been fun thread and you were a big part of that.
