Yasinkas Has Us Taking Kuechly

See you after the draft when we don't draft Kuechly and Rivera says he doesn't fit our scheme.

I don't think we will draft him so there is nothing to see. But he does fit our scheme,he might just not be the edge rusher Rivera covets. I will be fine with whoever we pick. In the meanwhile though I will continue to discuss my thoughts.

Rivera wants a player who can play right away

Rivera doesn't think DT is a huge need above others

Carolina likes Luke

We may or may not draft him. Luke supporters seem like they can handle him not being a Panther......not sure the haters can handle him being one

I actually like Luke. He's a good solid sideline to sideline type MLB. We're going to blitz a lot from the MLB postion this season, and from what I've seen Luke would not be a good fit for that. By no means do a hate the guy.

DT's were scrubs. Johnson, Anderson, and sometimes Hardy were the only guys I liked in the front 7. Once again though DT's were scrubs. No one had a worse DT pair than us and probally front seven in general.

We were worse defending the run on the outside than up the gut to the DTs. LBs couldn't do diddly poo and it all can't be blamed on the DTs.

How long does it take to evaluate a draft pick?? I thought it was at least 2-3 years. Unless they were Clausen bad and the replacement is Newton which would be analogous to drafting another Suh to replace McClain, then I would think the whole story hasn't been written.

Well from what we have seen Beason and Anderson will be a bad fit. I guess we need to find LBs, plural, not named Luke for this D

So our diffence of opinion is about whether or not he fits our scheme. Fair enough. Should be an interesting draft.

That is of course a silly proposition. No one would think we're going to replace Beason and Anderson. There must be a better way for you to make your point.

Besides, I think the Panthers are better off at defensive tackle than people give them credit for.

Exactly. The D-line played much better later in the season, after they played their veteran acquisitions more. I'm less concerned about the D-line than I am about Davis and Beason, neither of which I believe will make it through the season. Beason blew out a freaking Achilles, and Davis is done (sorry, but it's true).

The Panthers sucked on defense AFTER Beason and Davis went down, not before it (the little they've been together when Davis wasn't out). Their top four picks this draft need to include TWO linebackers, a CB and a D-lineman, in any order. Names are irrelevant to me. Just fill those positions with the best talent, best fit.

No, that statement makes my point. You can't play both sides.....can't claim Luke doesn't fit bc he didnt blitz in college and turn around and act like Beason and Anderson ( our only 2 LBs ) do fit.

I see the bust rate as people are really to take a chance on a more important postion. "Yeah I know he isn't elite, but he has a chance to be good. While with LBer they are saying he is going to be elite. LBer is one of the easiest postions to fill with scrubs. Not saying you want a scrub LBer core, but you will get a lot further with that than you will say a scrub QB, or a scrub D-Line.

Anyone who watched our scrubs last year and doesn't want an elite LB is either delusional or fans of one of our divisional rivals. How else could you suggest that our linebackers were better than the D line.

I never claimed that Luke didn't fit our scheme because he didn't blitz in college. He blitzed some.
