Yasinkas Has Us Taking Kuechly

I am not saying he is not worth the 9 pick....just not for us with other needs. Saying he is worth 15, but not worth 9 I donot agree with.

That old worth 15 but not 9 is a stupid argument according to Pat Kirwin whose opinion I respect. He postulates that if you pick at 9 you pick who you want. If you drop back even 4 picks you have to be willing for the top 4 guys on your board to be gone when you pick. If your guy helps you out, then the four or five picks is irrelevant in the long term.

Problem is with the talent after 5..... you can justify drafting the guys 6-15 anywhere bc of the drop off. You can only look at this draft. Luke may be mid round pick in other drafts. Weak top talent after 5 or so...

If the are all the same then give me a DT, DE, or corner. They have bigger impacts on the game.

Again you think he will still run a 4.68 with achilles surgery. That is the point most of you kuechly haters refuse to accept the probability not possibility that Beason will be limited for at least one year if not longer. No one has recovered 100% in one years time including Ryan who had the surgery 2 years ago. Please enlighten me as to what great advances have occurred in the last year which makes the prognosis so much better. Believe me I have looked and it isn't there. The biggest advancement has been getting them to move quicker instead of immobilizing it. That helps them recover quicker but has no impact on whether they get back to 100%. Truth is,all athletes after this surgery aren't the same and never will be. It is about how well they can compensate for the changes that occurred.

Those advocating Kuechly have comes to grips with the likely, those who haven't will but by them it will to late for this year. Hopefully the coaching staff are preparing for the worst.

Demeco Ryans didn't come back 100%, and the texans spent their best pick on DE, and their defense improved dramatically. This while transitioning to a 3-4, where the linebackers have more of an effect on defense.

I'm not worried about our linebacking core that much

Actually they don't. A corner isn't involved on 1/2 of all plays. DTs and DEs can be easily neutralized. A MLB is the general of the defense and is involved in the passing and running game on every play. The aren't valued as much because of what it costs to get one in free agency. Great DTs and DEs are rarer because the bust rate is much higher than linebacker. Still how many probowl linebackers not coming off injuries like Ryans come up every year in free agency?? Only old ones or ones with issues do.

That is the point they all aren't the same. Most of the DTs in this draft will need time before they are ready to play a big role. I am fine with a DE.

I want a player at 9 that can play week 1 and make the defense better. We are so bad, weak, questionable and thin on D we needed players now. We don't need a guy to develop for few years....and some great DL need years ( see CJ).

So when you talk DT.....you are going to hear Luke talk

I guess changing schemes and bringing in a new DC had nothing to do with it. It was that rookie DE that made all the difference. Seriously????????

And because you aren't worried suggests you are in denial. Don't worry you are not alone.
