He has above average coverage skills, and was not asked to blitz in the scheme they ran at B.C. His spot in their zone scheme was read react assist, not diagnose and penetrate. When asked to do those things he did well. Hes a better prospect than Morgan and has 10x better tackling form. Hes worth #9 overall for sure. Anyone saying otherwise is an idiot. Regardless of weather or not you agree with the selection, which I don't. I just dont see anyone else making a bigger impact then him, except David Decastro at #9 as far as being a day 1 starter.

I get tired of this stupid "they didn't ask him to do it" crap. If I got a LB who can Pass rush guess what no matter what scheme I run I'm going to find a way to use his Pass Rush.

Just like the Hill argument. He wasn't ask to catch alot of Ball as a wr. It the offense they run In G tech. If you have a weapon like that then why not use them.

part of Urlacher success comes from the guys playing in front of him.and he is the only 1st round LB on that team, Briggs is a 3rd rounder.talent could be be found later in the draft esp. at the LB position.

Could be said about any position in the draft man. Just gotta find them. This is not a quality argument. Kris Jenkins was found in the 3rd round. Higher percentage of DT busts in the first than LB's but the sample size is much greater. :|

He is a great lb when the whole D is schemed for him to make tackles 5 yards off the LOS

Yep, thats why hes a top five prospect. Cool story. I forgot how big of a powerhouse BC was. Again he was not a diagnose and penatrate guy... notice a lot of his tackles come from sideline to sideline without him even starting in the picture.

Hes a safer pick than anyone else. Him and Decastro. Am I saying that they are the best picks, no. But they will have the best impact. We have 7 LB's on roster, 4 of which would never start on another team, 2 of those 7 are coming back from HUGE injury. We have 7 DT's on the roster, 2 of which were rookies in the NFL last year. The choice is a no fugging brainer.

Because a pass rush/stopping the run is important. Kuechly didnt rush the passer much, but he has enough athletic ability and he is fast enough to do so. Plus his production value is off the chart. How much pass rush does anyone other than Suh produce over the last 4 years bro? Most 1st RD DT's have 3 or less sacks per year the last few years, with some having none, and most being busts.

We go safe and effective in the 1st round. This year, its Kuechly or Decastro. Do I think its right? Not really... but Im not against it. Quite frankly, I like this staff, and I will back whoever they select.

hell nah, im saying the guys in front of him are part of the reason why he is so good. but yet you were the same guy who said you didnt want a DT that weighed under 300 lbs.
