Yasinkas Has Us Taking Kuechly

Again whats our biggest need stoping the pass. Either with a better pass rush or better db play. Luke does do either of those things so why is he even being talked about? It's like taking a project pass rusher. Maybe he can rush the passer because he had a decent 40.... No not at 9. I'd rather take poe if were going to draft a project type player.

Dont get me wrong im not say luke is a project he will be a good nfl starter 80-100 tackles a year. Fact is he is suppose to replace davis, a pass rush specialist. Why take a run stoping lb at 9??? Say no to luke in the first and draft brown in the second.

again LB is such important spot in a jj4-3 that he never invested in one in the first round. there are better blitzing LB in the 2nd and later rounds who i think would get the job done just as much as Luke.

Really. Seems like the guy whose name is on the D would want all world lbs that can only be drafted in the Top 10 to man it

Difference between pass rushing and blitzing. JJ43 needs LBs to blitz.

But Luke is a BPA pick on D. Anti Luke people are focused in need and specific fix. BPA is about not passing on talent bc you are worried about how to use it. Talent finds the field.

I bet if Jim Johnson was allowed to do the drafting.....he would have had them.

Lukes strength is his pass coverage. He was a converted SS to LB. I saw him take a pick six in his first game last year. With Jimmy Grahm and Gonzales it would be a good investment to draft him.

Our biggest need is to get better on D quickly. Having enough talent on the field Rivera can run his D finally is also important. We didn't not run the scheme bc we were starting rookie DTs. No LBs was a huge part in not being able to run the d

Thats covering a rb out of the back field which im not 2 worried about and sure he can do. You don't draft a LB top 10 just because he can cover the flats.

I agree that stopping the pass is becoming more important each season, however people fail to see that the TE position is a huge factor in that as well. Kuechly has been noted by scouts to be a good coverage linebacker as well as a good run-stopper so he can be a great addition to our pass defense.

Thomas Davis, was more of a coverage linebacker rather than a pass-rush specialist. In Fox's defense, we got pressure from the front four.

Does anyone remember Jimmy Graham absolutely torching us last year? I want somebody who can go head-to-head with opposing teams' TE's. Can we find that in the 2nd round? Possibly, but if Cox isn't there at 9, Kuechly would be a defender who will be a force for other teams to deal with in the passing game and the running game.

He can do more than just cover flats. How many times in the new pass happy NFL do you see a LB covering a zone with a TE/WR in it.

I would argue that zac brown can cover just as well if not better than luke. He can be had for a second round pick and is a pass rush specialist. So why not get what we need the most out of a second rounder and grab a bigger need in the first like DT or CB?
