Everette Brown = SAM?

I've played and coached football for many years and the idea of Brown possibly being converted to a SAM OLB is not "crap". If you think it's a ridiculous idea then you obviously don't know much about football.

Ever wonder whats keeping you from breaking through to the next level?

And coaching staffs never tell you one thing and then do another, right?

Being vague or deceptive to the media makes sense. Why would you lie to one of your draft picks?

I think if it becomes clear that Brown doesn't have the stuff to get to the QB at the NFL level, then converting him to a SAM OLB would be under serious consideration, especially given our situation at that position.

He'd have to outright fail first. At this point, I don''t think it's a consideration at all.

Ron Meeks' methodology isn't the same as Mike Trgovac's (especially as it pertains to D-Line)

Just wanted to echo what others are saying and add a little more thought.

The reason many 'experts' feel Brown dropped was because he simply would not convert well to being a linebacker in a 3-4 and as so many teams are moving to the 3-4 that left only the 4-3 teams that needed a true speed rusher.

Now consider that if he is not viewed as proficient enough to play as a 3-4 linebacker, then how on Earth is he going to fit in as a 4-3 linebacker? About the only instance he would EVER be considered there was if we had Peppers, Brayton, Lewis, Johnson in on the 3rd down packages and he could rush froma LB psoiton. That is hardly EVER going to happen though. The problem with moving him to LB is that you lose what makes him great, the quick initial burst and agile moves to lose the blocker. If you give the OL time to set for his rush, then he has not got a chance in hell.

CatMan, please drop this idea and stop trying to defend your case and conceed defeat.

on sirius nfl radio this was discussed. it wasn't said that they believe Brown would become a SAM, but it was said that they don't know if Brown can keep his hand in the dirt every down, and that him becoming SAM isn't out of the question.

You know, that's the problem with this board - someone posts an idea and right away people jump in and call it "crap".

If you know as much about football as you do the salary cap then I'm ROFL at this whole idea
