Looking Like Jenkins Will Be There In The 2Nd...

I don't think Janoris Jenkins is a thug. I just don't trust him to make the right decisions in order to be on the field.

If smoking weed in your late teens and early 20s makes you a thug, well then, you better picture me rollin' on dubs wearing a buncha chains flashin' my gats and poo.

Im asking him to play football, not baby sit.

That's what we asked Rae Carruth too.

Not that I'm comparing the two or anything. But you can't just throw away all of JJ's issues. He's been arrested for possession multiple times. That's sort of a big deal.

If Jenkins is there in the 2nd we'd be CRAZY not to take him. He's the best cover guy in this draft who has slipped only because of off-field issues.

And really, what are those issues? He smokes a lot of weed. Ok, so do half the people his age in the country, not to mention 2/3 of the NCAA and at least half the NFL. So he has some kids, too? Whatever. We're not talking about Pacman Jones here where he's out assaulting people in clubs and poo.

I'm going to be VERY pissed if Jenkins is available in the 2nd and we pass on him.

Ain't gonna happen. If the Panthers draft him it will be a vast departure on JR's philosophy reguarding player character. He's nothing but R. Anderson 2.0 and once bitten twice shy. Second round pick needs to be a solid contributor without any issues....something Marty has struggled with.

A corner at 40 who would be a top 15 pick if he could stop smoking weed and knocking chicks up? For sure. Grab Cox at 9 and Jenkins at 40 and that's a solid top of the draft. I think just being in our locker room, feeling the commitment of the rest of the players and tier belief that this team is something special, would straighten him out and get him to work hard.

Even with all his baggage I can see him dropping to us in the 2nd though. I think some team in the 30s will ask themselves who the BPA is and notwithstanding all the off the field issues will end up picking Janoris.

I can't understand why people believe this to be the case.

Although I'd love to have him..............don't kid yourself on his motivation.

I dont know anything about Rae pre draft, but im pretty sure no talking head said hey be careful this guy may have someone killed. Any one we draft can fug up. At least we know what Jenkins struggles are.

Thug??? So im sure every1 that says hes a thug has never smoked weed, done drugs, got in a fight, had a child or 2, , ok, now id rather have a player that has battled and experienced life cuz their sights will be more set, a lot of players in this draft are boom or bust, or get in trouble after they go pro, with that all being said,we need a new starter in the secondary, whether it be gilmore, kirkpatrick or jenkins , n idk if yaw forgot, but he is the same corner who shut down bigtime players while at florida, and evntho he got kicked out, and at n alabama, he still maintained a dominate play, so he also still maintained some focus while goin thru trials of life, i like him, and if we dont get gilmore, i hope he is there at 40, cuz he could be this yrs diamond in the dirt, which i also hope we trade back with the eagles throw clausen in plz, lol, and get coples, jenkins, zach brown, broyles/or adams, grab a o-line guy with upside, anger, and wilson

Bottom line, jenkins will be good in the nfl, and i hope we dont pass on him if we have the chance to get him, players with something to prove, and the ability to do it, areas players i like, coples, jenkins,, and if we trade back and miss on coples, id decide between gilmore and jenkins, and to everbody thats on the cox bandwagon, go look at stats and game films, he isnt any better than brockers, poe, still, b thompson, josh chapman, and coples can play inside, end, or stand up
