So is it worth getting? Not hearing favorable reviews from other players on SWTOR.

WHEN IT WORKS, the game is great. As a Star Wars fan myself, I would say if you like the Diablo loot system and whatnot, it is a far superior experience to anything SWTOR could offer. It has also improved on Diablo 2 in almost every single way. There are a few little instances where I think D2 might be better, but as a whole, everything is greatly improved. It is definitely addictive like it always has been, majority of problems people are having that I've seen is from connectivity issues and the fact that it is not truly a single player game.

Which is most definitely frustrating and sucks, but let's not confuse one of the best series in gaming to a MMO.

Yeah I definitely agree that gaming is heading in a horrible place when you can't play single player without being logged onto a remote server. Pretty lame for sure, but the multiplayer/co-op is integrated naturally and I'm sure that is what the devs are wanting us to play ....lol

Beat normal started on nightmare last night. Got past the skeleton king but it is MUCH harder as you go through Act IV and into Nightmare. So those of you who think the game is easy just wait. Also some of the late mini bosses are VERY unfriendly to melee....

the bosses are just as easy. in fact, most fights are just as easy. in nightmare/hell you'll just find yourself getting 1-shot randomly but for the most part it's just as easy.

Melee isn't fun with poison and fire on the ground....ranged yea it's a cakewalk still....

i think i've played enough to develop my opinion on the game.

it was a severe let-down.

Started out my Barb was a weak ass pansy, couldn't hold his own, or anchor a party as a meat shield. I was weak as hell, would take me 5-6 hits to kill an enemy while a Demon Hunter or Monk of the same level could do it in 2-3 hits. It had to be my gear was just too weak, I was losing interest because it just wasnt fun.

I finally decided to check out the auction house and found some pretty decent gear for relatively cheap. Now I freakin' love it. Cutting through enemies like a hot knife through butter. I used to have to run whenever I would see a mob of champion enemies, now I can cut the whole bunch down in a few swipes of my mace.

I'm addicted to it now.

All i can say is being at ACT 4 Infront of Diablo.. There is no legit way to clear the acts w/o gear from acts beyond the current one. Act1 inferno doesn't gear you for act 2 and especially when all you get is sub level 60 rares. I am a monk btw as well. Only reason we got as far was mage teleport and corpse leapfrogging but yeah.. There is no legit way to clear the game with the way it gives out itemization right now. with nearly 800 all res in groups, 75% DR, 50k dps, 12k dps as a tank, and 35 dodge, I still get dunked instantly in A3.

yeah, act bosses are easier than a lot of the champion mobs/rare spawns. gear doesn't help survivability at all. on my DH i just do as much dps as possible before i die. this nerf is really killing me. they killed my only chance at surviving any fight when they mega-nerfed smoke screen.

Diablo III will get its first patch next week, according to Activision-Blizzard community manager 'Nethaera'. The incoming client-side patch will fix a number of bugs, including one that breaks the game, as well as a number of alterations to class skills to balance gameplay. Security concerns and the real-money auction house were also discussed in the forum post.
