They are upping the Act3/4 drop rates soon according to Big Blue.

That's great, too bad most of us can't get through Act2, you know, unless you have 250 million to spend on items or farm 5+ hours a day.

I want to love this game, but it's obviously a mess. It was't ready to be released yet. And the RMAH being shoved in our faces was a fail. I think they wanted it to have less impact on everyone but with the gold inflation happening on day one, people exploiting to get tons of gold, etc, items are insanely expensive. You really feel like you have to spend $500 real money to play the way you want. Even if you can farm, let's say, Act1 inferno, the repair costs are just stupid.

It's pretty official that Activision is dragging Blizzard into the ground.

I dunno, I'm kind of fine with Inferno mode sucking for normal people. They added an extra difficulty. If this was D2 the game would have ended at Hell. The only lame part is you don't have a nifty set to show off.

This isn't what D3 was supposed to be. This game now requires more of a time sink and money than WoW. What's up with that?

It depends on what you play. Demon Hunters and Wizards have progressed pretty easy. Barbarians kind of stink in Inferno and need millions of gold worth gear. If it was easier I would have beat it by now and quit. How is that any better.

You wouldn't quit, no one quit D2. You make more characters. You min/max continuously. PVP, etc. Difference is, on D2 you did that after beating all difficulties. Then you could farm those on your own time. That's the problem. The grind should be AFTER you beat the game, on a game like this. Not smashing your face into elite packs over and over.

  • 2 weeks later...

Do you guys still play this?

I never thought I'd say it but I've almost lost all interest in this game. It's not what I expected. It's more time intensive than WoW (just to get through Inferno). If you wasn't lucky and exploited for millions early on or aren't spending a ton on the RMAH, or getting lucky drops, you can't do much. I can't even sell lower items for 100k or so. Unless you're selling stuff for millions, no one cares. The game almost forces you to use the RMAH, it's so broke. I've kind of decided that if I'm going to put in 4-5 hours a day on a game it's going to be something like Guild Wars 2 or some other MMO where it's more worth it. Diablo is meant to be a log in for an hour and smash stuff, min/max gear and keep finding new stuff, not "farm 5 hours a day for 2 weeks, per act" (at least for Barb). Probably the most disappointing game of my life right now.

I picked up Torchlight ($20 to preorder Torchlight 2 and get first free). Game is pretty fun. 2nd will have multiplayer and I think it could be better and more fun than D3 actually.

Almost everday....at this point I have 4 chars level 40 or above. My highest, a lvl 60 wizard I'm in the stage where I'm doing butcher runs in order to gear for a2 and beyond in inferno. My lvl 54 monk is waiting for my wife to play some more since that was the char i played with her. Then I have two chars I've been playing pretty much solo, a lvl 46 demon hunter which I've lost interest in a bit because it's a boring class to play, and a lvl 40 barbarian who just rips through everything in his path.....

I guess I should mess with another character, but the inferno brickwall got my nerves too much.

I finally bought it last week. I know of the problems but after playing the starter edition for 80+ hours ( Skeleton King part of Act 1 on normal over and over) I thought I would get my moneys worth regardless of the problems.

Still rolling a WD. Don't care if they suck later on. Most fun I've had with any of the characters I played with in starter edition. Besides, WD might have problems with pets in later difficulties but it's only a matter of time before activizzard nerfs something and buffs another making WD godly for a couple weeks or month.
