Yahoo Sports Contributer Really Likes Jordan Senn

A "Sennsational" read about our underrated, undersized LB.

After virtually the entire defense went down in 2011, Senn came in and was awesome. He ended up with over 70 tackles in only seven starts, and also had an interception and three forced fumbles. Having that success has him hungry to do even more. I imagine how effective Senn could end up being alongside John Beason rather than replacing him. Senn is a bullet to the football and has enough speed to make plays that other linebackers miss.

Senn really is undervalued and under-appreciated by many. Senn does have that je ne sais quoi about him, and can certainly be an X-factor in the coming season. The guy can never get enough love.

We had several discussions about him during the course of last year. He sadly was our defensive co-star with Gamble. CJ did his thing too though

Really glad to have him back. I knew his turnover #'s but had no idea that he had that many tackles in that few of games.

Average players surrounded by scrubs look like beasts.

I.e. low level high school football.

I like Senn, but I like him on ST and as a back up.

The reason he resigned back with us was not because he loves the Panthers or the Panthers love him. If teams were really impressed he would have gotten paid somewhere else, but he realized that that his role was fine with the panthers. Especially with the lack of demand.

That's a little harsh. BTW, you are basically equating our 2011 defense with "low level high school football". It wasn't good, no, but that? No. If Senn hadn't been in there, it would have been even worse.

Nah man. That wasn't the point I was trying to make.

Its my fault, I wasn't clear.

Usually the stars of lower level high school football, are in reality probably just average players compared to the big-time football schools and conferences.

I was just making the point that the entire talent level on defense last season, namely the linebackers, was low. Which makes the player might look better than he really is.

I am not bashing Sean or the Defense, I am just being realistic.

It's all good. I just like the fact that players like Senn and Jason Williams come in and play hungry and hard when they get the opportunity. It not only shows up on the stat sheet, but their energy really translates to the field, and seems infectious on the sidelines.

I agree, he is taylormade for NFL special teams. He is exactly what teams want.

Its a shame he didn't teach him self to long snap, he could be a 10+ year player.
