I hate boom or bust guys like Coples. and I hate that s*** on his arm. He's the guy I want least

Here's how I rank all the guys that could somehow be there at #9...

Claiboure

Blackmon

Cox

Ingram

Floyd

Kuechly

I think the writings on the wall with Coples. A lot of the criticism on him seems to me like pre-draft smoke to get a guy to fall, and we have visited him a lot.

If he's the pick, then given Hurney's and Rivera's track record for picking talent I think he'll be the best choice. Furthermore, a strong pass rush covers for a lot more defensive holes than anything else, and Coples has shown more talent than anyone in the draft at that. When the biggest red flag on a prospect is supposed effort, then having a coach like Rivera that can get players to buy in is crucial.

As for Ingram, I just don't think he fits our scheme and his college results seemed a bit inflated compared to his physical ability (same for Kuechly.)
