Of These 4 Draft Prospects Who Is Your Favorite?

I like Cox and wouldnt mind the pick, but i agree that i think the front office still wants to see what they can get out of McClain and Fua before they take another DT high in the draft. I would go with Coples since you can never have enough good DEs.

So if they pick Coples does that mean the FO doesn't want to see what they can get from Hardy then?

I put the link there so people could see both and I prefaced it with Cons so posters wouldn't think that was all there was. I was just responding to the concept that he would be good against double teams or strong against the run. He fits our scheme which is a 1 gap attacking style but wouldn't be good in a 2 gap read and react. I am not as against him as I sometimes post. I just have to give the Cox fan boys some balance. I just don't like choosing a DT in the first with bigger needs out there. it wouldn't matter who. The only reasons I could go with Brockers is because he has a bigger upside and could be a Kris Jenkins kind of guy. Cox has less an upside in my opinion.

When will you give the Keuchly Fan boys (like yourself) some balance?

Any defensive player is find with me. That your problem you have done everything to discredit everybody else but Kuechly.

No I haven't. I have advocated for Poe, Kuechly, Ingram, and Coples. I made a thread about Ingram today. I don't want Cox because I don't think we need a DT and I haven't given up on McClain and I like Cherry and Neblett. But honestly if they go Cox I will be behind it and hope he is everything you think that he is. Lets be serious. If they picked Kuechly you would be bitching and complaining for weeks and using opportunities during the year if he struggles to let everyone know that you told them so. Cmon now, you are incredibly predictable.

So you given up on Hardy who may not have been great but was better then McClain and FUa put together.

I've Already said that If they pick Kuechly I cool with that as well. The only thing I said would piss me off is Floyd or Oline not name Kali. But keep telling me what I will do you know me so well.

What does that mean??? I only really jumped on his bandwagon when he got trashed by so many people here. I thought it was totally unwarranted so I defended him. The more I read and watched about him the more I liked him. Then when I read an article about an NFL achilles injuries study on the Houston message board, I realized that perhaps linebacker was a much bigger need than I had previously thought. So I went with it and the more people trashed him the more I defended him. So it morphed into being a kuechly fan boy. But honestly I don't expect us to take him and I think actually we will take Coples. I will be fine with that.

I could go into why at my age frankly things don't matter so much like it did 20 years ago. But it would be pearls before swine.

So I will leave it at that,

Dude your not on the Bandwagon your driving it. Same thing you did about Kuechly is the same thing I did about Cox. But instead of reading early 2000 medical file I watched our defense give up record rushing days to suck ass RB.

I haven't given up on Hardy so much as I think that we may be able to upgrade his position. He has had several years to improve and he really hasn't. Just like if McClain has another struggling year I would be fine with upgrading him as well. I expect players to make big improvement between their first and second year and when it doesn't happen it raises questions. I think Coples has the potential to be the next Peppers so why not try and find an upgrade. But yeah I would give Kuechly a long look . But the difference is that without being at the workouts, talking to the guys and knowing the gameplan for the team, it is hard to know who is really the best choice.

As for you being fine with any other choice, I will keep that in mind. And if the complaints start, I will remind you as well.

Well this thread didn't take long to turn into a pissing contest...

Of those four:

Cox: our DT's need help. We have a logjam of bottom tier players and a major talent would be just what our whole D needs.

Coples: I like his versatility. His motor doesn't worry me in the slightest, as RR would get the most out of this guy.

Floyd: our WR corp is one injury away from going from solid to poo-tacular. LaFell was clutch, but when he was finally starting, his catch production went down significantly. Gettis, though we all slurp him, is a vast unknown. We need to find a true #1 to take over for Smitty, and he could move to the slot. AE is trash and Pilares is still an unknown commodity as well. Floyd could help our O not stall in the second half.

Gilmore: I can't say why, but I'm just not sold on him. Dig his dreads though.

Hardy played very little his first year. Last year was his first year starting. I was very pleased with the way he played. I think he can get atleast 10 sacks a year. Everyone keeps saying that we need DE help. I Dont see it. The only positions on the defensive side that need major help are DT and CB. Now if beason and Davis go down then obviously LB would be as well. But we don't know that in April now do we

He had 2 years really? This was his 1st year starting in a lockout offseason where he didn't have much of a TC due to the Motor crash and injuries. Then he had to learning a new defense. Not to mention playing beside 2 Rookies who were getting man handled. I think people need to cut Hardy some slack.

Just to be honest here what makes Floyd a #1 wr really? There's a lot scouts that see him as a #2 just like lafell.

Exactly.

If u plug in cox along with Edwards coming back. U have a significant better pass rushing line.

Like I said I haven't given up on him but think you need 3 or 4 guys who can come in be significant contributors. We have a number of DTs but really 2 DEs who can come in every down. We need more than that. We brought in 2 DT last year in the top 3 rounds. When was the last time we drafted a DE as high as we drafted McClain at 65 other than Brown and lets be honest how quickly did we give up on him???

Coples By FAR.

1) We have yet to see what Hogan can do at the corner. Im sure with his little bit of experience and sitting on the bench nursing his injury, he got alot of insight on the corner position. So that eliminates Gilmore.

2) We have yet to see what all the hype was about David Gettis was in training camp last year. They were saying he was a definate number 2 receiver and he made great strides. He is 100% now and I see him returning to form and brandon lafell stepping up.

3) Get Cox only if Coples isnt there
