Of These 4 Draft Prospects Who Is Your Favorite?

He wasn't a once in a decade type player. He was highly rated but it like calling Luck a once in a generation player. Some folks have called him that but at this point I don't see him as necessarily better than RGIII or Newton. If Peppers were a once in a decade player he would have gone 1 not 2. And he was not the best DE in the 2000s. And he isn't the best now. Again I think they compare pretty well and others agree.

But like Claw I am done. You obviously have your mind set and have for weeks. No need discussing anything about Dline until after we settle the draft. Then you might come back to reason.

Yes he was and he was the best DE prospect in 2000. Only person that was close was super Mario.

J Pep

Peppers attended the University of North Carolina, where he played defensive end for the North Carolina Tar Heels football team. He was recognized as a consensus first-team All-American, and won the Chuck Bednarik Award as the nation's top defensive player and the Lombardi Award as the best collegiate lineman and the Bill Willis Trophy as the nation's best defensive lineman. Peppers redshirted his freshman season. Peppers led the entire nation in sacks with 15 his sophomore season. In the three seasons at North Carolina, Peppers started 33 of the 34 games he played in. He is currently ranked second all-time in UNC history with 30.5 sacks. He accumulated 53 stops behind the line of scrimmage, 167 tackles, five interceptions, two fumble recoveries, five forced fumbles, 13 passes deflected, and 43 quarterback pressures (hurries) and returned two interceptions and one fumble recovery for touchdowns.

Coples

First team ACC 2 years 2010-2011

But yeah your right they are about the same. LOL!!

Well the way I look at it is the value of the position. Just look at the the money the cb's got in FA and most were below average at best. That's why I think it could be Gilmore either we trade down it's Gilmore or we stay at 9 it's Gilmore . Between getting a starter at DT or cb I would choose cb there is a higher value there I think. We have people developing at DT position who else do we have at cb, one guy. We can maybe pick up devin still or someone in the 2nd but I would not be surprised if we picked fleener (whatever his name is) TE from Stanford in the 2nd and add DL help later.

I like Hardy, but he's had more than one chance. He regressed last season. While I expect him to improve this coming season, we need more talent at the position. If Hardy is worth keeping, he'll step up and earn it. As it should be done.

This is a stupid comment. He's only had one friggin year to start and when was banged up from the motorcycle crash through the season. Stop being dumb

Of the four listed, I view it like this...

Coples has most upside (and bust-potential)

Gilmore fills a more immediate need (though I think there are plenty of CBs as good as him rated lower. I even think Brandon Boykin has as much potential as Gilmore, and he's listed as like a 3rd rounder)

Cox could fill a big need, but might not give an immediate impact

Floyd could potentially fill our #2 WR hole. I just don't see that happening in year one.

I gotta go with Coples of those four. Still, I think Keuchly will be seriously considered.

And you would be wrong again

Cox hasn't generated the hype of LSU's Michael Brockers or Memphis' Dontari Poe, but he's the most pro-ready.

"Cox is ready Now"

Again, Tannehill is #8.

And I don't disagree Cox is more ready than Brockers or Poe. DTs still aren't plug and play positions as rookies generally speaking..... and that refers to the good ones.

So again, that list is NOT who is most ready to play and make an impact in the 2012 season. We need help now.

Grabbing a DT in the 2nd makes more sense. Help now has the best odds at 9.

disagree with that, this is not the old NFL. rookies are coming in and starting at every position with success including DT/DE. the Jets, Chargers, Bills, Titans, Texans, Browns had rookie DT/DE start last year over 10 games with decent numbers.

He had 2 years to start. Read kats argument above about DTs and DEs who come in and start right away. If Hardy didn't do that, it was his issue. He was facing Brayton and Brown for time, both guys that Rivera didn't even keep when he got here. I am fine with Hardy staying and improving and really don't think it has to be Coples or Hardy, it can be both. But Hardy has had 2 full years to develop and really hasn't. Maybe bringing in some competition will light a fire and bring out his best. That is what competition is supposed to do.
