Of These 4 Draft Prospects Who Is Your Favorite?

Don't start that poo please.

Coples went to the same school and played the same position but he is no Peppers.

Even UNC fans will tell you he is no Peppper. Don't play yourself like that.

I wonder why folks make the comparison then. Same number, similar size, similar skill sets, similar production, same school.

Here is one writer who sees the similarities.

If the New York Giants pair of Super Bowl titles in the last four years has taught us anything, it’s that you simply can’t have too many pass rushers. It’s become a quarterback’s game and you need a good one, and you need to affect your opponents.

In a draft that will by dominated at the top by quarterbacks, the most physically gifted defensive player may last until the sixth or seventh-overall pick. North Carolina’s Quintin Coples can be that player.

Coples did show up in a big way at the Senior Bowl. At 6-foot-5, 285 pounds, Coples looked very lean and was especially dominant in all of the one-on-one drills. The former North Carolina star was clearly the best player in Mobile.

“I think it was very important,” Coples said of his stellar play in Mobile. “I heard the rumors and all the things that were going on about me not playing as hard, so I took it personally. And I made a statement for myself that I can compete outside of the ACC and all across the country.”

The easy comparisons made about Coples are to another former North Carolina great, Bears defensive end Julius Peppers. Both are elite athletes with virtually unlimited potential. Quintin tends to shy away from the comparison.

“He’s more of a finesse guy,” Coples said of Peppers. “So some of the finesse things that he did as far as being on the edge, getting the hands off, are some of the things that I took. To put into perspective with my game, I’m more of a power guy. I kind of converted some of the things that he did and put them into my game.”

He was a stuck behind E Brown, Tyler, and CJ in 2010 don't you remember that. He was the 2nd Situational pass rusher. He didn't get any starts. 2011 was his 1st real year as a starter and he had No offseason or TC. Cut him some slack poo we gave CJ 3 years.

he wasn't stuck. While he didn't start, he got a lot of playing time.

Like I said, I expect him to improve. I don't expect miracles.

Coples is no Peppers.

Coples is a good player but he is no Peppers. If he was we wouldn't have a chance to draft him. You forget Peppers was a top 2 pick.

Different coach different expectations. How long did he hold onto Brown??

So what 1 year. Again I don't care anymore PC is making up poo and you keep bring up Cox. If we get Coples I will be OK with that because I would know Rivera could get the best out of him. Plus we would have Hardy until he becomes a FA which will be a year or 2.
