Rumor: Eagles Interested In Trading Up For Fletcher Cox

its funny you say DT is a weak class when some are saying it is strong. Cox could be a pass rush guy from the inside and that is the strong part of his game. i like Brockers as well, but he is not the threat Cox is in form of a pass rush.

What they are saying it is a strong class because it is a deep class but there isn't a bunch of outstanding talent at the top. The fact that they have jockeyed positions and gone back and forth shows that there is no consensus great pick. Cox has moved up the board dramatically but if he were that fantastic he would have been there all along like a Suh. There is no reason we have to take a DT at all in this draft is my point.

This is a stupid point. Because their is no Suh it's not a great DT class. There was no Suh last year either but the tackle class last year had 2 top 15 picks and 4-5 picked in the 1st round. Player like Dareus, Phil Taylor, Cory Legiuent and Farily (at the end of the season) made a impact. The 2012 class will have just as many or more DT picked in the 1st round. So while you think this is a weak class. 5-6 teams who will pick DT in the 1st round don't.

Just like last year Farily started out as the best tackle until Dareus start moving up the board after the combine. So that doesn't really mean poo.

It was not about Suh but someone who came out as a strong pick and stayed there. Dareus was considered a much better pick than Cox having played his senior year. This is what Cox could have been if he had stayed in school. So thanks for bringing up Dareus which reinforces my point.

Marcell Dareus was projected to go 3rd overall in this January mock draft by Kiper. So it is true that Fairley fell as did Bowers but it isn't true that Dareus shot up boards. Unlike Cox, he was there all along. He was a top five pick throughout the process on most folks boards.

Like many of your posts, there is a sprinkling of truth mixed in with lots of bias.

if they want him so bad how about this...... Our 1st round pick, 2nd round pick and 6th round pick for Asante Samuel, their 1st, 2nd and 3rd rounders... They can move up take Cox or Ingram.. they move up in the 2nd as well and get a late pick. we move back a little in the 1st and 2nd but we pick up a former and potential pro bowl corner and a 3rd round pick... i know his cap hit is high but with our cap space now we can afford it, then we restructure and sign to an extension and it won't be a problem..

We'd have Gamble, Samuel, Hogan and Munnerlyn at CB.. then with the 15th we take BPA.. This is a Great scenario to me.. if only it would happen..

Whatcha'll think?

There is no Suh, Fairley, Dareus, in this draft.

Deep bc it has lots of lesser DTs

You need to stop now and do some research.

Fairley was a 1 year wonder and starter 60 tackles 11.5 sacks 24.5 TKFL his last year

Dareus was a 2 year starter 33 tackles 4.5 sacks 11 tackles for loss his last year

Cox was a 3 year starter with 56 tackles 5.5 sacks and 14.5 tackles for loss in his last year.

All of them were Jr. coming out.

So Cra what makes them better then Cox? Reality is he was a better and Safer Prospect then Dareus and Fairley.
