Ingram is a better fit as a 3-4 oLB no doubt. Freeney and the Colts defense were never good against the run and Lived off of Peyton and that offense putting up points fast and making the other team have to pass to comeback.

Ingram is a good fit as a 4-3 DE or an 3-4 OLB. Freeney always had the size and ability to be good against the run but the same spin move that makes him hard to stop when pass rushing also makes it hard for him to be stout against the run. Ingram is reported to be pretty good against the run and his 10 sacks speak for themselves. The issue with Indy was the same problem we had when Meeks came here. HIs philosophy was to sell out on the pass rush and the run defense suffered. It isn't the personnel so much as the scheme and philosophy.

Norwood was just as dominant in college and was 251 coming out of college. I am not anti-Ingram but I am anti-USC players until they start producing. And I am a USC fan too.

I'll forego the Everette Brown comparisons.

They both were prolific in college but were used differently. Again if they are the same then why is one a top 10 pick and the other was a fourth rounder. Apparently the only one who thinks they are similar is you.

You have your Opinion I have mine. Dude would be great as a OLB in the 3-4 and Ok as a DE in the 4-3. If we pick him I still think Hardy will start on running downs and they bring Ingram in on passing situation. Which is a waste of his talent. He will have more playing time on a 3-4 team then he will on a 4-3. JMO and that won't change.

Versus Cox being a rotational guy and trying to work himself into the starting lineup?? As I remember it, didn't Johnson start out as a situational pass rusher??

No I think Cox starts day 1 right beside Edwards. Which is kinda funny because I don't think we were talking about Cox. So why the hell did you bring him up?

Yes CJ did start out as a situational pass rusher and it took him 3 years before he had bulked up enough to be a full time starter.

But CJ and Ingram are 2 different players. CJ is bigger, stronger and has longer arms so he could make the transition to 4-3 DE.

Ingram is faster and more athletic. He better in pass coverage and can pass rush standing up just as well as with his hands in the dirt. He makes a Perfect OLB in the 3-4. I can see him being a bigger more Athletic James Harrison.

SO when Johnson was drafted he came out of the draft at 6'2" and 270. Arm length is unknown??? and reps in combine were 33. Ingram is 6'2" and 264. Arm length 31 1/2, 28 reps in Bench press.

Ingram is faster and more athletic than Johnson was and will make more of an impact sooner. As for Johnson being bigger and stronger??? Not a big difference. While folks say it took 3 years for Johnson to start, weren't folks complaining that he should have started sooner. With no Peppers and only Hardy as competition he might get to be a starter much sooner.

If CJ was ready to start sooner then he would have beaten out Tyler Brayton which shouldn't have been hard to do. But he needed to bulk-up to hold up against teams running at him. Just like Ingram would have to do. But in a 3-4 Ingram can play sooner and use his speed more in open spaces.

Again I'm telling you no matter what you say or your opinion my opinion will still be that I think Ingram will have more of a impact in his 1st year and a overall better career as a OLB on a 3-4 team.
