Rumor: Eagles Interested In Trading Up For Fletcher Cox

Hell no to Floyd we will be in range for a DT, or 1 of the other CB Gilmore or Kirkpatrick. I rather have them.

I'm of the opinion that we don't need to get a DT through the draft. Would rather see Fua and McClain develop alongside Edwards, who should be back. I'd support getting a DE.

My first preference is to trade down.

For all those folks whining about the Giants and how we need to emulate them, here is your chance. Ingram would be just like Umenyiora or Strahan.

Actually he would be fine in our 4-3. At 6'1" and 264 he is big enough to put a hand down and rush the passer. He reminds of Dwight Freeney without the spin move.

Or Eric Norwood 2.0 with a less prolific college stats.

I dont think he will be on the board when we pick

Jacksonville is the biggest threat at 7. If they trade down with Philly and Philly gets Cox then unless Cleveland pulled the trigger on Tannehill it is likely Miami takes him at 8 and then Ingram falls to 9.

Norwood is 241,Ingram is 264. One is a top 10 pick and the other a fourth rounder.

Yeah just alike????????????

Norwood was just as dominant in college and was 251 coming out of college. I am not anti-Ingram but I am anti-USC players until they start producing. And I am a USC fan too.

I'll forego the Everette Brown comparisons.

Hypothetically, what do we do if the Eagles trade up to 7 and take Cox?

Honestly, trading back is not a very realistic possibility. Would we go with Stephon Gilmore at that point, and hope to get one of the good 2nd round pass rushers? Do we take Floyd? Brockers?

I think Luke is BPA on D then.

If they look on O then Floyd or the G could be the pick.

I think any of those 3 would be better than a DT when you can grab one with the 2nd.

lol @ the jags for thinking they still have to pay top money for first round talent. Why would they trade down? If anything, they should grab Blackmon. Or just quit. Philly ideally should trade up to us.

Why? Not saying you're wrong, just want to hear your justification.

For those suggesting that we trade back with the Eagles, consider the following:

1) Any team interested in trading up to our spot is doing so solely to get in front of Buffalo at 10. Otherwise, why would the Panthers be the ideal trade partner?

2) The Bills have very strong defensive line right now. Mario Williams added. Dareus drafted last year. Pro Bowler in Kyle Williams. They have many other needs. While nothing is out of the realm of possibility, I haven't seen Cox mocked to Buffalo by anyone.

3) If the Panthers wants Fletcher Cox and think he is a good value and BPA at #9, they aren't trading with a team that is likely to select that player.

Ergo, if Philly was really targeting Cox and they thought the Panthers wanted him, they would have to trade with Jax (as suggested by many) to get above the Panthers. Teams interested in Reiff and Floyd, two likely targets of the Bills, are more likely to be trade partners with the Panthers. Arizona seems like a decent partner if they fell in love with one of them and didn't expect them to fall to 13.

They have needs all along the O-line and for a #2 receiver. But they don't have a 2nd round pick this year and are probably more likely to stay put and just take whoever's left since they have so many holes along the O-line.

Stoner I beg you to please don't change your name and don't stop coming to this site. I plan on rubbing it deep in your face when Cox becomes a Pro Bowl player in this league even if it's with another team. You are so wrong about this kid it's going to be funny when he's in the running for DROY.

Well rubbing it in my face is not the right way to come across but whatever floats your boat man. If I am wrong I will admit that I was wrong and if you are wrong I wouldn't bash you at all. If they draft him and he is defensive rookie of the year I will be ecstatic.

Well cool. You being so against this kid makes me want him to succeed where ever he ends up.

Just make sure you keep coming to this site and please don't change your name.
