Who is riled up?? If you know me at all, you know I don't take any of this seriously. This is just the first time I can remember in a long time that when an official stat was pulled up in an argument, other posters showed youtube highlights and came up with different numbers and asserted there's were more accurate. I find that a bit ridiculous, that all.

cool cool

I think I misinterpreted the level of heat in the thread

This thread definitely brought out the gays in the huddlers. not that there is anything wrong with that. . . If this was a gay forum.

Anyways, back to the topic

If the panthers draft a DT, it doesn't say anything about our current tackles. I know fans love to throw that argument out there, but it's weak sauce.

Gawd, I can't wait for the draft to get here..

I 'm not working anything I just telling you what I saw.

So if you saw it differently and this is what they do for a living, who should we believe??? Maybe I am wrong here. Are you an NFL scout or just a message board poster???? Your opinion is yours but don't act like it carries the same weight as an official stat.

Dude I just said what I saw. Maybe me and CBF stats have different definition when talking about QB pressure. I'm just saying in 2-3 games I've looked at I saw more then 8 which CBF says he only had for the whole season.

When the presence of an on-coming defender causes the passer to throw the ball sooner than desired and/or delivered it uncatchable. i.e. thrown out of bounds, etc. (the pass must be incomplete or intercepted to award a hurry). A hurry does not involve contact with the quarterback, at least not at the time of the pass (contact after the release of the pass is somewhat necessary in order to award a hurry.

It's also still very much subjective.

But I've also seen pressure given when the pass was completed.

We were talking about Hurries were we not? Either way, any site or person who gives credit for a hurry when the pass is complete isn't doing so by the official definition.

I thought we were talking about QB pressure? Which can happen if you make him move out the pocket.

Well it started off as hurries and then you morphed it into pressures. For the record, pressures isn't a true statistic, only hurries. If we're talking pressures then I guess you can make it whatever you want because there isn't some standard statistical definition. Makes your argument easier I suppose.
