This list was only for defensive tackles and wide receivers, it even says so if you read the actual article. They were making a point that WR may be the position drafted.

SO why only include 2 positions? Seems to me if you want to make a point you need to use context. Sure WR may be drafted along with just about every other position besides center, QB,RB, TE, safety and special teams. Seems a long way to go to say very little.

I did twice trying to get the convoluted point. As I said in a much earlier post, when you start an article talking about going to an Australia zoo to see elephants it only will go downhill from there. Mix in some PCP dust in that next bowl and you might see some elephants as well.

I did. Smoke a bowl for further clarity and then reply................

So the writer is writing about the current wide receivers on the roster then he shows how much interest the team has had in the top ten receivers in this years draft. You're expecting him to talk about quarterback, running back, and tight end when it is an article about wide receivers? Then he compares draft visits and such of those top ten receivers with the top ten defensive tackles who in his words, "a position most fans think is dire" or the top position that most fans think the team will pick. The OP who quoted the link failed to realize this as you have so I will smoke a bowl on this fine Sunday afternoon.

And as I said earlier, interest is relative to who else we are looking at and whether we are wanting a receiver or just covering our bases if we decide in the unlikely event we might trade down.

Many fans who know our real needs versus perceived needs and listen to the coaches don't think DT or WR are dire needs.

Since DT is not a dire need but a luxury IMO for a unique talent then comparing WR to DT is a bunny trail unless we discuss corner or DE which are also considered big needs by the team as well. Plus how many WRs are we bringing in who could go in lower rounds or are we only looking at first and second rounders.

The article was incomplete and surely didn't convince me we are likely to go WR. But hey I am sure it is me...................

Defensive tackle has been the top position of need on this board all off-season so do not tell me any differently. Go back to my previous posts, you will see that I am in the minority when picking something other than defensive tackle at pick 9. The article was as complete as it needed to be, it had one point and it delivered that point. Wide receiver may or may not be the pick but the article shows stronger interest at receiver than defensive tackle for the top players at their positions.
