Made Some Nice Loam Today

Soil, at my house, is mostly clay. I've been moving high dollar produce to the house because of thefts in the field. I tilled in about 3 tons of sand along with manure, peat moss, straw, and leaves. Man does it look and smell good. I'll plant my heirloom beans and tomatoes here at the house. They should do well. Pumpkins and winter squash will stay in the field. Don't listen to hair cat or hairless cat. He's not a farmer.

Just seeded a lot today. Various lettuces, spinach, zucchini, squash, okra, cucumber, lima beans, snap beans and a bunch of peppers. Still got watermelons, strawberries, asparagus and all my herbs to go.

I recently discovered the awesomeness that is mushroom compost. You open it up and the smell smacks you. It's like mother nature took a dump and bagged it up.

Well I'm starting a strawberry patch from seed in a raised bed so I don't expect to get any until next year. IDK if you can get any that you can harvest the same year. Maybe if you bought plants and got them set in march you might see some in the fall.
