Does the NBA still use the ping pong ball lottery to select the draft order? If so, does it concern anyone that the worst record in the league has not had the first overall pick since 2004 when Orlando selected Howard?

In fact, since 1985 the worst team in the league has only had the first overall pick a total of 4 times.

Hopefully, they don't use this system anymore.

I was just looking into this yesterday and it's still going:

Draft Lottery

The first 14 picks in the draft belong to teams that miss the playoffs; the order will be determined through a lottery. The lottery will determine the three teams that will obtain the first three picks on the draft. The remaining first-round picks and the second-round picks were assigned to teams in reverse order of their win-loss record in the previous season.
